Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 02 5:01 am)
Just d/led the items on my Mac, but Poser crashes when importing any of the .3DS files (running with 350 MB RAM, seems not to be memory problem). Usually Poser imports .3DS (Mac & Win) w/o modification, but sometimes it fails with complex geometry (I guess). Actually the resource fork of a Mac file is a separate .rsr file on WinPC. To get rid of the resource fork on Mac, you can copy the data portion (e.g. text) with text editor and paste it into a new text file. In WinPC you delete the .rsr file. No solution, sorry.

His thumbnail in FS looks like a nice collection but I was unable to open any of the MAC .3DS files for use on a PC. Is there some simple trick - like lopping off the resource fork - that can be done in a text editor? If anyone translates them please let us know.
