I rendered an item in Bryce for "letter" and very fine - anti liasing. I printed out the image and it is so grainy. The resolution is terrible. The whold image is to go on the front page of a magazine that's 8.5 by 11. What do I need to render it as? krbtv@home.com

Hello krbtv, you need to render to disk @300dpi. I do it all the time and it works perfectly. Rendering to disk seems to be faster too.........Cheers, H2

::nod:: 300dpi is the minimum resolution for any work you may want to print :)

How do you set it up to do that? I rendered at 4250 x 5500 and the results are still not good. The files is 50 megs.

Under the file pull down, do a "render to disk", you then have output options available.Set your image size and output DPI and file format. Good Luck! P.S.Which Magazine? It would be cool to actually see something in print.

Oh thanks!! I'll set it up before I go to bed - working on a file now - trying to get a magazine finished. It will probably render all night. Do I set the inches to 8.5 by 11? Kimberly krbtv@home.com

Set it up for what you want your actual image size to be, and make sure to use something around 300 dpi.

I did. The output size in pixels is 2550 x 3300. Print Re solution is 300. Output size in inches is 8.5 by 11. But I still cannot save as a tif file. I can save as bmp. When I try to save as a tif file I get and "invalid file name".

render it as a bitmap, then take it into photoshop and save it as a tiff
