OK..headache time again...I have had Vue 4 for about 2 years and never have been able to get it to load a PZ3 from poser.....It always tell me I have to have the poser program or it can not read the PZ3. I have off loaded Vue and reloaded...installed the update....but still no go. Now I have to do this for a job I am working on...so the headache is really starting to hurt now. I have a legal version of Poser 4 and a legal version of Vue 4. I am running a pentium 4 with XP Dell Dimension 8200..500 meg of sdram.

Poser needs to be closed before you import to Vue4 a pz3. Also Vue needs to be updated to the latest version 4.12 (or 4.2 if you use Poser 5). Go to www.e-onsoftware.com to get the update. This should help. Guitta

Have you updated Vue to 4.2? Probably yes. Normally Vue asks where Poser sits the first time you import a pz3. You have to show Vue where the exe sits, otherwise it will not work. You can try to rename the exe or the folder of Poser to make Vue asking again. I hope that works, Walther

OK..I have legal versions of both programs..totally up to date..... I get a small window pop up in Vue that says it is unable to load the PZ3. I went into the curious labs folder and renamed the exe file...that didnt do anyhting either....

i think there is a thread around here where someone had the same problem. Has to do with some entries in the registry as far as i can remember - maybe. I am on Mac therefore i am not too familiar with all that. But i remember the discussions. Do a search for that. Maybe there is something in the backroom area as well. Sorry for not being more help. Try to rename your Poser 4 directory to "Poser" alone. Restart your computer. Then open Vue 4 again. Now it MUST ask you again to locate Poser.exe. DO NOT!!!! rename the poser.exe. Just rename the directory. (Sorry Walther:-)) Please try.

And: Try with another file or better a figure. Maybe you have tried with an object??? Some Poser objects refuses to import into Vue.

OK...so what kinf of damage have I done by renameing the Poser exe?

gebe ( ) posted Sat, 24 January 2004 at 4:28 PM

All depends to what you renamed it. If you renamed poser.exe to poser.exe, no problem

dpoosch ( ) posted Sat, 24 January 2004 at 4:33 PM

OK...I did what you suggested ....and guess what...after two years of hair pulling....I WORKED!!!!!!!

OK..so now Poser is in operable...can anyone give me the exact name for the poser exe that I changed.

dpoosch ( ) posted Sat, 24 January 2004 at 11:25 PM

OOOps..I mean poser in now in-operable..wont even open.

Mine is Poser.exe (with a big "P") But it also will work if I rename it poser.exe _________________ The problem when renamed is only that the shortcut will not work any more, you have to create a new shortcut.
