well texture filtering is for large shots, where the texure on say a ground plane is really far in the distance, I think that this helps it from patterning. I boost the Pixle Samples to 6 or more as well, gives a better antialias, I do not really do anything different other then just use the production quality.

eggi the settings you have in your picture are quite good for ordinary use. making the pixel samples 1 is good if you just want a preview with no antialiasing as it is quicker but as odeathoflife said making pixel samples 6 or more is very good for final renders, though it does slow the render down a bit.
Ok. Check cast shadows. Don't use raytracing if you are not using reflection nodes. You can increase bucket size up to about 100 for faster rendering. The higher you set this the faster it will render. You can set it too high though and your render will fail. 100 is good for most uses. You can increase texture resolution to 4096 to take advantage of larger texture maps. They will show more detail. Minimum shading rate is fine at 2.0 for most renders and tests. Going to 1.0 or .5 or even .2 will increase quality but increase render times. As pointed out texture filtering does not do much good unless distances are involved. Raytrace bounces controls how many objects a ray will bounce or pass through. 4 is a fine value for just about anything. You'd have to have a bunch of reflections/refractions for this value to go up. There is a fine line to rendering with Poser 5. If you set all your render parameters to max the render may fail. This may be related to computer horsepower. Also, there may be no need to go to that quality of render. You can render up to where it looks good and you can stand the render times. Your settings look good for general testing and so forth. Each final render you do may have different options checked, depending on what you have in your scene.
