Subject: Joint Parameter question...

I think I get the way JPs are setup, but something doesn't make sense to me.. maybe someone has tackled this. I want to make shorter legs on a figure. scaling the y with the shins works fine. scaling the thighs, though, pulls the shins up into the thighs! I tried adjusting the y shin and y hip joint parameters, but didn't quite get what I was looking to do. I can x scale the shoulders and forearms down fine, I can scale the shins down fine, I can scale the torso parts down fine, but have these honkin long thighs to deal with! Ideas??

You might try adjusting the "center point" for the thighs. ;=]

You may try to adjust the "y scale y" JPS in the shins by using the joint editor. Or you might edit the cr2 so that the shins and below use propagating scale instead of just scale. (you may have to rework the JPS after that, though).

Thanks for the info... I'lkl try that right now, and see if I can figure out what the culprit is. I was told once though to NEVER move the center points...

Ok, I had to change the yscale in the hips. I got one side working right, and then had to mirror the left leg to the right. Kind of interesting the effects these have on each other...
