Its that time again. Vote for your favorite images in this thread below. Vote for 3 different images and vote for first, second, and third place. Please be careful about your votes because, as I've said before, I confuse easily. You must chose 3 different images, and you must assign 3 points to your favorite, 2 points to your second favorite, and 1 point to your third favorite. Post by artist name (not the image number) as follows: curmudgeon - 3 bludgeon - 2 sludgeon - 1 I will tally the points and announce the winner on Friday. Theme: This challenge is about the family concept. Show us your poser family in a traditional way: A Happy-Family Studio Portrait.. Your family could be human or any creature, minumum 3 actors in it, mother-father-child.. As you wish, you can add grannies or other brothers-sisters Postwork, imported models, backgrounds etc...all ok. Artistic aspect is more important than technical.. Feel free to post your comments about the images. Make your vote clear so that I can spreadsheet it. Best wishes to all. Be sure to click "next" at the bottom of the challenge page because there are two pages of images to look at. Winner picks the theme for next month (and that might mean March this time, but I digress).

I will say that there is liberty on the "traditional way". If you want to read more on the theme, see the link above. Thanks.

Here are my votes, anyway, traditional or not: A - 3 (beacause I too loved Ringu) munaza - 2 (great concept) Skyangel - 1 (because even Poser5 family needs a portrait;))

Skyangel ( ) posted Tue, 27 January 2004 at 3:33 AM

My votes > pstekky 3. (I love the cheeky gremlins and the poses and the lighting and all of it.) MistDragon 2 (A new baby always pulls on the heart strings and the parents are looking at it so adoringly. The whole picture ozzes family and love.) mariademirel 1 (It reminds me of an old fashioned portrait where the people were not supposed to smile)

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 27 January 2004 at 4:31 AM

Ah, gee, I guess Sludgeon didn't enter this time! I was so looking forward to his family portaits of slime molds (how many genders?). 3 - munaza The shadows are great, the lighting is interesting, the composition is excellent. 2 - elv The gothic set-up is nicely handled. It does look like a family... although not quite the way Sargent would have painted them. ;^) 1 - mariademirel Nice composition and coloring, and a sense of real family.

Please vote by user name because that is how I spreadsheet it. I do not go by image number. Thanks. Also, Remember to assign points to the name. I cannot guess what points you want unless they are assigned. If your vote above doesn't look like this: curmudgeon - 3 bludgeon - 2 sludgeon - 1 Then I probably don't know how to count it. Thanks.

Skyangel - 2 (what a nice poser family, and visible relationship, very very good post work) Munaza - 1 (to serve the feeling via shadow is a very creative idea) And i must say to Syyd and RedHawk, I admire your art work.. 31 entries and no bad one, incredible.. bravo all the participant artists..

mariademirel - 3 marcfx - 2 pstekky - 1 And may I say I like each one for completely different reasons. Mariademirel - I love the composition, the expressions, the mood of the image. I just think it's all round something that would immediately remind me of family portraits I've had to endure as a kid. Pstekky - Thank you for making me spew coffee over my monitor. :D Markfx - I love that image. It was a toss-up between your and mariademirel's image for me. That elephant on the right... looks like it's going to walk out of that picture. Lovely. Truly lovely. :)
