Your first time? I was thinking that you did this always, no, not to destroy films and friends, ... to develop :) I'm just scared. Now I understand the use of BW C41... more safe for you in fact. LOL!! congrats Michelle for this first experience, this is like the first kiss to the photography. Good luck in your next developing and enjoy this wonder now that we have rolls yet.
lol....i had a similar experience. i remember there being lots of giggles fumbling in the dark. trying to roll the film onto the reels took me ages...lol. wait till you do your first print! i do miss doing the printing, the chase for that perfect print. enjoy :))

LOL< sounds like what my first experience would be like. Now that is something I would have loved to seen...oops forgot, it was dark. lol. So now we know what you do in the dark....any more surprises? hehehe. On a serious note, I would love to pick your brain sometime when you get it down on how to develop my own negative. I've got the space, but not a clue on what else I would need. pweeeeeeeeeease. only when you have the time.
Really don't need much space just to develop negatives... once I've got the steps down and can do it without fumbling to much I'll put a little list together for you.... Give me a few days.... :~)

No not the kind you're thinking of.... snicker but today was my first time developing my own film.... a rather funny morning or maybe not, at least I can see the humour in it.... It started by me forgetting that I hadn't rewound my film.... I had left it in the camera so that I wouldn't forget it at home... I open the camera.... "Oh shit!" Exposed. Get into the darkroom, snap off film cover... doing good! Try to load film onto reel...start cranking.... clunk... film falls on filthy floor, now I'm feeling around like a blind lady in the pitch dark looking for it.... "Ahhh, found it".... let try again... Great did it, put film in tank.... Close cover..... Crash! There goes the tank to the floor sigh, I did it again this is why they call me grace... now both me and my lab partner are on our hands and knees, trying to find the tank. We can't turn on the light because if the cover came off it would expose the film. I'm smacking into the wall, turn around and me and my partner knock heads "ouch!", in the meantime my foot kicks the unseen tank, further into oblivion.... arghhhh... Another friend of mine cut her finger and bled on her film... hehehe... Made it out of the DarkRoom alive.... whew.... it was fun.. only managed to ruin only the last 7 images on the roll.... What an experience...! Can't wait to do it again...
