Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)

Subject: Survey add-on: Poser 6 associated programs

numanoid ( ) posted Thu, 05 February 2004 at 7:38 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 2:59 PM

This thread is started in response to a request by Katherine from Curious Labs.

Please use this thread to list the programs and utilities we regularly use in Poser that were not mentioned in the Poser 6 survey. For instance, the survey mentions Deep Paint and texture waepons, but omitts UV Mapper, and mentions Photoshop and PaintShopPro but omitts CorelDraw.

Do not use this thread as a wishlist for new features, there is another thread for that. Also do not include Python scripts here, there will be another thread for that as well.

My list:

PROGRAMS

UV Mapper
CorelDraw
Correct Reference
P3DO Explorer
Mimic

UTILITIES
Metaball Plugin
PInstall
The Tailor
MAT Pose Editor
Objaction Scaler

FBX format Export - Poser would be a great compliment for Kayara's MotionBuilder.

Well, in my animation work, I frequently also use the following programs: Macromedia Authorware Vegas 4 Acid 4 PowerPoint (stop snickering! lol) Carrara 2 Swish & Flash MX Fireworks MX Poser specific Utilities MAT Pose Edit Easypose PoseRAY De-Triang Mover PHI Builder Mimic And I'd like to see CL rescue Bryce. (oh, hush!)

thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)

I was a Bryce user before I got Poser....so it was Poser and Ray Dream (and MacRock and Mechanisto) into Bryce. For a very short time I tried to work within Poser, importing mostly materials via PhotoShop and UVmapper, and morphs with Amorphium et al. I was outputting animations into sprites for use in Escape Velocity and Coldstone. Now the story is Carrara Studio < -- > Poser, with the pipe into Poser including but not limited to Carrara Studio 3, Amorphium 1.0, UVmapper "Classic," PhotoShop and Graphic Converter, the wonderful freeware MacInstaller, MacConverter, and MacConstructor, and perhaps most useful of all, BBedit Lite.
