Subject: Where to purchase Nude reference photos??

Queensoul ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 5:31 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 4:28 PM

Ok, please don't laugh at me. But I need to know where I can purchase some reference photos to create my own models. I did a search on the net and no matter how I framed it, I always got sent to smuttville. Where do you guys suggest? ;) Thanks

You local newsagent may have some at a reasonable price too - look on the top shelf :)

I agree about 3d.sk. Excellent site. $9.95 per month with great variety and quality for texture making and modeling reference. Just for reference pics for modeling, the Akira Gomi pics are plenty good for modeling, or even just sizing existing Poser figs, and they are floating all over the internet for free.

I'll put in a third endorsement for 3d.sk. The same person has several reference photo sets in the marketplace here, under the name Levius I think. Those sets are on the subscription site.

Queensoul ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 7:06 AM

Thank you for your suggestions. I am checking all of them out. @elgyfu ..am sorry I don't understand what you mean. I know its supposed to tell me something. lol

Another vote for 3d.sk. Queensoul, elgyfu is referring to porno mags.

Actually, porn mags "might" be a good resource. Without getting too crass here, I'd say to stay away from the topdog mags like Playboy/Playgirl and Penthouse since there is WAY too much airbrushing on the pics. However, there might be some copyright issues involved if one partakes with such an adventure. I've certainly considered the 'girlie-mags' as a source whenever I get to the point of texturing but, I personally like the process that Morris describes in her frontpage interview. And, digital cameras are getting quite reasonably priced as of late. Good luck in your searching! Now... I must partake of my quest to seek out Akira Gomi, the goddess of nude reference! OH MAN... I need to get some sleep :P

Thanks cyberscape. I have a digital camera that can take up to 3000 pixels. At this time I have only taken pictures of rivers, streams, lakes, castles and churches. Oh my, I don't even know how to start taking pics of actual girls, so I am gonna have to stick with one of the suggestions here. As for Akira Gomi, I just can't find it. I got sent to a japanese site on one of the searches and dar*ned if I know what they are saying. So hook me up when you find this Akira :D I might try 3D.sk.

Not of Posette or Vicky but, a living-breathing human. So please, minors and those easily offended keep out! BTW, this isn't a porn link either. Hope this helps! Peace out! Disclaimer : No Posette was harmed during this search of Akira Gomi. However, Victoria 3 was indeed given a good spanking when I caught her stealing RAM... that little thief!

Queensoul, you won't regret joining 3d.sk. It's packed with very high quality photos for texture and pose references. And there are no copyright problems, either. Once you sign up, you have the right to use any of the material.

3d sk is a wonderful source, and Peter Levius is the nicest person. Syyd

Thank you, thank you all :) I am about to sign up at 3D.sk. and cyberscape, LOL, careful V3 may spank back. Thanks for the link..on my way over there.

Syyd ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 12:44 PM

Can somebody help me out here with the Akira Gomi thing? Is that how small the photographs are, and is there any way to get them full size? I know that the site mentions Peter Levius as the best reference, so I am just wondering. Thanks! Syyd

Queensoul ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 1:18 PM

I have the same problem as you Sydd when i went to the Akira Gomi link. I got all excited when I saw the set with the dark skinned girl. But it was just really small. I just went ahead and clicked on the 3D sk link.

Syyd ( ) posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 1:33 PM

LOl...okay, I thought it was me and that I was doing something seriously wrong. I couldn't find an email link on the site either, to ask that question. There are such good photographs there too. You'll like 3d sk. Thanks for the heads up! Syyd

cyberscape ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 6:05 AM

I have to agree, 3d.sk is much better! For the price of $10 to access (I hope) all the ref pics... that's quite a deal!

They are taking their time. I still don't have access to log in, even after signing up yesterday and emailing the guy. LOL, am impatient to go in there and run all over the place. ;)

Grace37 ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 2:05 PM

i have a membership at 3d.sk and i am definatly not disappointed they have the best you can get and he is always adding more

Syyd ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 2:13 PM

Queensoul I think its because you'll get an activation because he uses or was ussing ccnow to process orders and then gets a confirmation of sale from them. Plus its the weekend. Grace, I agree with you 150%, sometimes a texture is comprised of bits and bobs, or you can use the big sets of model photographs and build the whole thing. Whatever, he's got it, and his updates are fantastic!

fls13 ( ) posted Sun, 08 February 2004 at 2:36 PM

The Gomi pics aren't good enough to do textures from, but they're great to do general proportions scaling of figures in Poser or as backgrounds for morphing modeling in a modeling app. There are hundreds of them and the girls are of all shapes and sizes. You can find them in Posturepics groups at Yahoo.

Don't mention the Marketplace here. Don't mention the Marketplace here. Oh, you mentioned the Marketplace here. So now the dirty secret comes to light again: people try to sell stuff here. We've tried to keep it hidden, we've tried to keep those nasty merchants in their place. But, if you really much purchase something, then I suppose the Marketplace is a good place to go.
