This is my first atempt at a picture in poser and I have no one to show it to so i hope you don't mind. Its just the start. Any sujestions, thoughts, Ideas coments most WELCOME. -------------------------------------------------- QUESTION -------------------------------------------------- I installed PhilC wonderfull boots (thanks Phil) but in the wondow in poser were you see all the props and clothing etc, there isn't a picture of the boots, like there is of the other iteams. There is a white figure with its hands in the air like it dosen't know whats going on. (Sorry said it was a stupid question) And i sometimes get a message about "This has a later version number than expected, but poser will attemped to open it" its only since my computer was repaired; they had to reinstall poser when they fixed it. anyway they work after the message but i wondered what it was. Thanks all. Here is the picture.

You aren't seeing a picture of the boots because, I think, there's no .rsr file. You can just open them, reposition the camera to focus on the boots, and save them back to the menu -- then the camera view will show up, sans yellowy-gray background. As for the version thing, uh, I have no idea. I get that a lot myself, though, so at least you aren't hallucinating. I really like this image -- the pose and expression are sort of innocent/coquettish. The texture on her clothing is great, too, sort of like fishscales. You might want to reposition the fingers of her right (our left) hand -- not because they look unnatural, but because that looks a lot like the default hand position, and that sort of thing tends to stick out a lot for Poser users. As a work in progress, it's got a lot of potential. :)

The version number message probably means that you are opening a file or adding an item that was created with the latest Poser patch.

Nice picture, really the only thing I can suggest is for you to crop the picture in an art package so that there is less blank space around the central figure. As it is, the figure looks a little lost :) That's the "grey shrugging guy"-icon that indicates that there isn't a resource file (RSR) to go with the character file (CR2). You'll get this whenever Poser can't find an RSR file. To solve it, simply bring in the boots and position the camera so they pretty much fill the screen, and save them back into your library with exactly the same name. This will force Poser to create the neccesary RSR file. "This has a later version number than expected..." Basically, what this means is that you are opening a figure/prop (whatever) that was created in a later version of Poser than the one you're using. If you've had to re-install Poser, I guess that you originally had Poser patched to 4.x and now you've just got a plain vanilla unpatched version. Go to the CL website to get the latest patch - that should cure your "problem" Paul

This looks very nice--sure better than my first attempts at Poser. I like the clothing texture and the pose. I agree with Paul--I'd take it into a graphics program (do you know how to use 'export' and export as a .tiff and them select just the figure/chair with that??--then you can add a nice background--even if its just a gradation). Even if you don't change the bg, just cropping it would add greatly to the focus on the figure. Good work. Diane B

Hummmmmm...... good picture, but are you sure they are my boots? These look as though they are derived from the ones in the program, the ones I'm thinking of I built from scratch. Oh I did do a P3 version wayyyyy back, but I dont think these are they either. Still its a good picture none the less :) Regards philc_agatha_white_on_black.jpg

You could crop the picture, or simply zoom in with whichever camera you were using. Also, you should increase the quality of the file when you save it. I'm new to Poser myself, and I think I achieved pretty good results with just taking my time, and paying attention to little details. I recently posted my most current WIP picture here in the forum. At this point, the only post work done was drawing in the hair and adding "hotspot" reflections to her eyes. Btw, I'm using the same chair prop...Sharkey did a good job on it, huh?
