Hi, I'm just starting here on Renderosity and this is my first piece of photography. I wasn't sure about how people would react to an image such as this. PLease tell me what you feel or think when you see it Thanks in advance Chris

First, welcome to Renderosity Photography Gallery and Forum! We are glad to have you and I'm sure others will come along and say the same. :) If you give it time and involve yourself you will find everyone here more than helpful and appreciative. Just stick with it. This is completely appropriate for this gallery. Everyone will have an opinion of what they feel or think when they see this, but what do you see and feel when you look at it? Are your trying to convey a certain something? I think it's a great start to your gallery and look forward to seeing more from you.

I think its quite an intimidating piece. The fact that you can't see the face, well not completely makes this quite suspicious. Also, you could find this image quite a romantic piece, like the man is coming over to the bed where his lover lies waiting, as a candle burns bright on the bedside cabinet. I was playing around with different lighting and took a few different poses, i'll be putting them up when i can. Can you only put up 1 image a day? How are you able to upload more? Thanks for the warm welcome. Best Regards Chris

Hi Chris! Nah this place is not intimidating. lol. Well I guess it may seem so to a newcomer but I would put that aside quickly. :) As for your interpretation, well that's the beauty of it, many people will see things differently. What's most important is what you think. However, my opinion or thought would not been one of romance, and since it is Friday the 13th, I will go with the other extreme. lol. It reminds me of something similiar to Blairwitch especially since the lighting is coming from below....or maybe just a mad man on the prowl. lol. Yes, you can only post one image a day in the gallery. That way it's not hard to keep up with the other photos in the gallery. If you post more than one a day you may not get the notice or feedback that you desire. Now if you insist on posting more than once a day you can buy a membership here that allows you to post more than once a day. But is it really worth it? Hope all this helps Chris! :)

Thanks, yes it does help and i do agree the more images you would upload the less people would see each one! I meant the image was intimidating, now that you mention it i did think Renderosity was kinda big and scary lol THakns very much I added you to my fav artists, i'll take the time to look through your gallery Best Regards Chris

Chris, Welcome to Renderosity. Hope you will have a lot of fun here. A somewhat enigmatic image ... he looks relaxed and with good intent. The lighting is much darker on my PC than I like -- if you processed the image on a Mac, that might explain the difference. The attached link has some test card images and explains how to adjust your monitor's contrast and brightness controls. You might want to crosscheck the adjustment with other people. Are there any comments from others in this forum? About the Renderosity upload limits ... one image a day. If you go to "Member Options" -> "My Services", you can do up to 3 uploads per day by paying $5 per month and a 1-time $5 setup fee. That would be useful if you were going to consistently generate 2 or more images each day. MGD

It's a good piece. I don't think you need to stick a "nudity" label on something like that honestly. Of course some people do it just to get more views. I like the lighting and the composition. It's a good study. The only thing I would have changed is that it's shot right up the subject's nose -- which reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode with all the pig-faced people. But, even with that, I like it.

Could be worse, could be raining.

Hi Chris, and welcome. Hmm. My immediate thought when I saw this? I saw it with religious undertones. Why? The tone of the lighting suggesting candlelight like an altar, because of the chin tilting up and the expression of the mouth....no expectation, no suprise, more peace than anything... which for me is unusual, coz I'm about the least religious person I know... A good piece. Not sure about the hair though ;) he he he (",)

Hi and welcome Chris. A very promising first shot this is. The fact, that it can be seen in so many ways shows the quality. Looking forward to see more from your work! Tom
