Subject: make 4 clothing items to one figure

grid ( ) posted Sat, 14 February 2004 at 1:17 PM ยท edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 1:24 PM

Ok here what i like to know. I have made a set boot, shirt top, and shorts, helmet, and shoulder strap. They are all separate conforming clothing, ex the helmet. What i like to do A make the boots, shirt top and shorts all one Conforming part. (oneclick add) and I will keep the helmet Still separate cause it has moving parts. This is so it makes every thing ezer for the user. =)

I don't know how to do it but for what it's worth here's my opinion on clothes like that... I hate 'em. Many is the time where I may want to use one clothing item from a set and the only way to do it is to make the other 4 pieces invisible. I would rather clothing be kept separate so I can mix and match.

While I agree with SamTherapy on having al lthe pieces in one (hate it) it's easy enough to do. Import all your pieces into Poser and export back out 'with groups' if you've already grouped the items in question. You then create the cr2 using that exported obj.

Once you do it, might I suggest that you supply both the combined CR2 and also the individual pieces. I have the Armor Of The Ancients for Koshini and Ichiro by Dark Faction and it is setup like that and I like it. Sometimes I want it all, sometimes I don't. Versatility, Flexability, Usability...

that was going to be the plan To have both types Ok here is the problem After i do this The items geometry then gets all Funky looking the seems are crazy and the joints get all messed up!What is the good inport setting i will try this agian but in the past there is nothin i did to make this work

I have them grouped all ready So this is what your saying i do? Import the object file`s all of them, then reexport them all the same time. with What box check?then make he cr2 for that?

When you import the obj files UNcheck ALL options. When you export the assembled pieces, check ONLY the 1st option 'Include body part names in polygon groups' mac

Thx I will let you know how it go`s

I'd disagree with Mac (omg! twice in one month - it's a disaster LOL) and select only 'Include existing groups in polygon groups' on export. This is the option I use when exported my clothing from Poser after I've fiddled with it :) Of course, there's always more than one way to skin a cat ;)

hey xena, You may be right. Or we both may be right. One of those. I've never used 'existing groups', but I bet it's the same. Poser just likes to confuse us all. mac
