Subject: any opinions about Reiss/Bodystudio?

I placed an order for Bodystudio 2.1 for Max on Monday. No order # was provided. I emailed their sales dept. on Tues to confirm/acknowledge my order - No answer- as of late thursday. I called there Calif office at 10AM PST Wednesday, supposedly during there business hours, & no response as of late thursday (11PM). Does anyone know whats up with these guys at Reiss Studios? Is there s/w as crappy as there customer service? Anyone reco the program? I have Poser Pro, but felt there was seemingly nice improvements, not the least of which were tweaking matireals & memory management in Max. Also thought exporting some of the cool Super Illumination lighting arrangements would save rendering & tweaking lighting. any advise? regards, Pack

I use BodyStudio. I find the people at Reiss to be very helpful. I get the impression that they are a very small company and so they often get overwhelmed. I suggest patience and that they will sort things out eventually.

Dunno - I just asked about compatibility with VIZ 4 (why not? VIZ and Max are pretty much in bed together compatibility-wise...) I'm patient though (unless someone out here can report a decent experience with B/S and VIZ... :) ) /P

Josh (as in Josh Reiss) works the studio with a small support staff...having said that, he's been very responsive in the past. I worked the original BodyStudio (for Maya) Beta, so I can't speak to VIZ compatibility. I sense that, when the travel to a tech show or the like, they run on skeleton staff in their Bay Area office. Good Luck/Sit Tight, pdog

95% of the time they are trivially easy to get int ouch with - and they are always helpful. Sometimes, because it is a small company, they are away. It happens.

Hello! first off, I'd like to thank the customer who forwarded this thread to us.

Pack (patrick!), I'm fantastically glad that someone forwarded this thread to us. The e-mail entered in the order (@sbcglobal) has been bouncing the e-mails, both for sales, and service.
Let's get this fixed! I wouldn't want to post the serial number here :), so maybe an alternative mail account that we can send to?
is it possible to create a mail account through yahoo (or any similar webmail like that or hotmail), and then e-mail us at service@reiss-studio.com through that e-mail? this way we can forward the serial number through that mail service.

Popeye! if there's a message from december without a response, it could definitely be a similar issue to pack. is there a yahoo, hotmail, or similar account that could be used to contact us?

Penguinisto! I know we've answered a few questions about viz, but the answer is that we havn't tested it with viz yet. If you want, send another message to service, let us know that it's you! and I'll set you up with a trial version so we can see if it works w/ viz.

cheers!
-Josh
