Subject: Can you rename a .CEL file??

As stated above. it says the file is obsolete But others seem to work with that extension....It's a 3ds file with .cel textures. I have downloaded an Indy Car model from 3dcafe that has these items, if this helps. TIA

Deep exploration can convert these to pictures, I think that 3d exploration can, too.

Irfanview is a free viewer that can also do the conversion.
