Hello! I was wondering if anyone knows about the P.A.E. system and if you guys know and have downloaded it have you had any problems with it. Thanks a lot!!! peace.

I have downloaded it and no problems here. The only problem I have is that it is only for 75 frames :-) Chris

The problem I have with it is that it will not accept any BVHs I make in Poser as valid files. It just keeps telling me it's not a Poser file, which makes no sense. I was wondering if I have to do anything to the BVH so it will allow the program to see it.

What the hell is P.A.E.?

Viomar ( ) posted Thu, 14 September 2000 at 4:16 AM

You should check his site! He posted a quick Tutorial on it! Basically, you must make sure that your bvh is 15 fps! Otherwise it won't work! I can't remember what P.A.E. stands for! But, basically He made a special version of the NENE Model. He made Special Morphs just for her. What it does is simulate very accurate "Motion" & "Gravity" on bodyParts like the Chest, etc... But, for this to work, he had to use very specific Morphs for one Model! Marc

Okay my curiosity is peaked and I can't seem to find any info on this so-called P.A.E system. Is this some external application compatible with poser meshes? Is this some sort of joint controlled morph system? Just interested because everyone is being so vague, and because I still want to reproduce gravity effects on poser figures. Any info like an address would be great, thanks.

Poser After Effects. I saw a few demos on (I think) PoserFactory yesterday and I'm absolutely jealous of the way it made a martial-arts animation's model's ponytail and breasts move realistically (the breasts actually slosh, not just move up or down). I wish this was written in Java for compatibility with Mac users (thank you, MacCompose). Note to GhostEffects/Curious Labs: couldn't we see this integrated into Poser5?

Director and all others: please use this link for more infos http://www.eurus.dti.ne.jp/~masasi/Service/indexE.html There is are Nene Character, Supersuit and some Demos and tutorials for it. BTW - you can use PAE on your own character, just copy the PAE morphs to your favorite figure Duanemoody: the breasts move up and down too - let you Poser Girl jump a little bit and you will see ;-) Chris

Thank you for the info Chris. This is IT! This finishes where JCM ends. Man I now will be able to learn the technique and get figures that can rival the Maya Nurbs based guys

gsimmons ( ) posted Thu, 14 September 2000 at 3:42 PM

Hmmm, I followed the instructions to the letter and P.A.E. still won't recognize my bvhs as Poser bvhs! I cut my animation to 15 fps and everything! I actually downloaded it straight from the offical site. I am now completely stumped!

Vethril ( ) posted Thu, 14 September 2000 at 4:47 PM

You "can't" be stumped Gene. I have applied the technique to a short animation, and it works perfectly. If a technoclutz like me can use it, anyone can. LOL! Just doesn't allow for long animations, but most moving scenes with that kind of motion are fast and short anyway. It gives an animation some great realism. Hope you can get it to work. It's worth the effort. =)

Hope that and the JCM come to Poser 5 .. very impressive. Can't do anything with it but it looks cool S

The problem I keep getting is that when I try to open a bvh it keeps telling me this, "bvh file not poser format". The sick thing is IT IS!!!

MASA ( ) posted Fri, 15 September 2000 at 3:41 AM

Hi Gsimmons, P.A.E problem? I think BVH DATA is different format BVH DATA by POSER patch version. Please send The error BVH file to me and tell me Your Environment.(POSER patch version) If You send E-mail to me,I test and send back new Custom P.A.E version for you. My English is broken, It is a matter of regret that I can't explain well about my tools. But I hope you enjoy my system. I hope to create useful programs also that make life enjoyable for All POSER fun. Thank you. MASA
