This has probably been brought up already... I noticed at the theater this weekend that the Poser Default folks are featured in the beginning of the trailer for "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". The Poser folks are in wire frame, and show up great on the big screen. You can find the trailer at Apple.com or at www.focusfeatures.com Very cool looking movie, but I like odd films. Doug

I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

Well there is no Poser or 3D in the teaser Trailer Nor is there any 3D or Poser3D in the Theatrical Trailer that I can see. You must have been drinking too much. Plus the default chacters in Poser are not Specifically Poser in the first place. Posette and the Poser Dork existed before Poser did. They were 3ds models used in many other apps.

Be sure to watch the "Teaser Trailer" if you using the Focus website.

There is Poser in both, but you will notice it more in the teaser during the ad sequence. With the price of good models, it's probably cheapest to buy Poser. :-)

Poser wireframes are also in Spiderman, when Osborn is in the lab on the computer screen there is a wireframe poser dude.

I captured a frame of the teaser where there is a closeup of a face, and the mesh does match the P3/P4 Man Hi. But it wasn't rendered in Poser. The shading and hidden lines methods are very different. Probably imported the poser figure into another high end program to render.

Or probably bought the character that has nothing to do with poser since the models existed before poser and are freely purchased sans Poser. Upload the frame then. I looked yet again and there is no 3D in the clips

pjanak, do you have your monitor turned on when you view the trailer? Seriously, they flash little 3d wireframe stills during the "lacuna" speech. Doug

They are small wireframe still images in the "Lacuna" commercial that is in the beginning of the teaser trailer. The Poser 3 & 4 figures were not available outside Poser. The Poser 1 figures existed before Poser. Those had a totally different mesh. The Poser 2 characters were also a different mesh, as are the Poser 5 figures. The one I compared was definitely Poser 3 / 4 (Poser 3 & 4 had the same mesh in the man's head). I'll go grab the images again and post them.

This is a frame captured from the Teaser Trailer, during the Lacuna fake commercial in the start of the trailer. I used the smile morph in the P3 man to make him smile. The one used in the tralier looks like hair was added. The female figures (not shown here) had hair and clothes. Also, notice the eyeballs from the trailer. Before P3 there were no eyeballs in the default figures. The render from the trailer looks like a mix of hidden line and non-hidden line to get the eyeballs and teeth to show.

Just for reference, here are all of the default Poser male figures that are included in P5. Notice how low res the P1 man is. That is the one that existed before Poser.

I finally do see the meshes. They were so tiny in the trailer, hardly noticeable. I Know for 100% fact that the models that were converted to the Poser Dork and Posette were available from Viewpoint before POser 3 existed. Although I cannot prove it. They look exactly the same. They were 3ds format but were also available in a few other formats. So again. These models do not have to necessarily come from Poser.
