Subject: Challenge for you :o)

Here's a challenge for all you poser super-beings out there. I need a figure that is essentially an oversized full body(head to toe) stocking for V3. This will need to be conforming and be about4 inches in poser scale bigger all round than the standard V3 character. I need it to be a blank figure with no details just a smooth outline following the basic shape of V3, so I can add textures, bump maps etc to it and morphs using tailor would be good too. I am working on a sci-fi story where I need for the character to be covered from head to toe in a slimy substance, (ala aliens)this figure would be very useful in many ways, force fields, magical glows etc. I know alot of these effects can be achieved in Photoshop but it would be far better and quicker if we had a figure like this to play with. Thanks in advance for anyone who fancies a go at this. MaRv

I think there's a simpler way to do it. Get your V3 character in position, make sure you position her with the hip, not the body. Save that pose to the library, or click a pose dot, or both. Load a second V3 and apply that pose to her, then scale her up in the body by however much you want. Then just go to the material room and apply your slimy or glowing material. Would that work? I'm thinking it would be difficult for someone to produce a full bodysuit without using the V3 mesh, which would then make distribution problematical, in a copyright sense... I think... but I'm not a modeler of clothing so perhaps someone it's not so, I don't know.

Hmm. Well I just tried the idea I posted and sad to say it didn't work. The joints are all off. Now if I'd thought that through logically, I'd have known that would happen! Here's hoping some clever modeller will find you a solution that works :)

Yeh, I just tried it too LOL. It worked after a fashion to be fair, but req'd a fair bit of tweaking and as you can see, I still had a way to go, although photoshop would have allowed me to fill the gaps. I was looking for a greater depth than what I eventually achieved, but it was a good idea and one I will certainly use untill something better comes along :o) Thanks again MaRv

A new tutorial at DAZ Arcana shows how to make a body suit from an existing mesh. It works better than the technique I was working on. http://arcana.daz3d.com/index.php?id=696

If scaling doesn't work, you might try applying my Bulger script to the "second body".
