Subject: How To Remap ??

Hi all, I am curious to know how to go about remapping one of the Poser characters to take the textures of another character ? I am particularly interested in re-mapping Dina V to take Vicki's textures. There is no UTC plug-in for Dina V, hence the request..... ...and besides, I just want to find out how it's done. Could someone possibly point me in the direction of some tutorials on this topic ? (....I couldn't find any). Thanks in advance. regards, Andrew

That isn't surprising. Modifying a figure to have the same mapping as another can be quite a challenge. You'd have to painstakingly rearrange Dina's UV coordinates so they line up with Victoria's template, which will be either an exercise in tedium or frustration.

I know of no tutorials that will walk you through the process. AprilYSH might be able to offer some pointers; she successfully remapped several figures (but not Dina).

My best advice is to learn as much about UV-mapping as possible, and become very comfortable with all the features of your mapping software (UVMapper, Ultimate Unwrap3D, Deep UV, etc.) before you even attempt such an ambitious project.

Renderosity, RunTime DNA, and UVMapper.com all have mapping forums:

You can also find some general-purpose tutorials here and here.

For detailed UV mapping and texturing direct on to a 3D model you may wish to take a look at Maxon's BodyPaint 3D.
