Subject: UTC for SP: for what purpose?

As I have several textures for V2, I bought the UniversalTextureConverter so I can use them for V3. Visiting Daz, I noticed that there is now an extra top convert for SP. As all textures for V3 can also be used on SP because of the unimesh principle, what is the advantage of acquiring this extra?

I have tried prudent planning long enough. From now I'll be mad. (Rumi)

According to the blurb there are some differences between S3 and V3. I haven't noticed them myself but then I haven't used S3 all that much. I'd say if you're happy enough with the way your V3 skins look on S3, don't bother with it.

I'm not sure, but can't you convert V2 textures to S3? That would make it worth it. Or even S3 to V2... Can the 2nd skin clothing textures be converted also (V2, S3, etc)?

Billy, if there's no discernible difference between V3 and S3, why not just convert V2 textures to V3? AFAIK, there's nowt but a gnat's eyelash difference between V3 and S3, so converting to one should work for the other. Therefore (IMO, at least) the S3 plugin is the biggest waste of money since high octane toothpaste and low calorie shoe polish. :)

I just compared the UVs between V3 and SP on the arms, legs, feet, hands, body, face, and head. The only differences I saw were a thin ring around the edges of the nipples moved just slightly, and the area around the eyebrows spread a small amount. The rest of match exactly. (I didn't check eyelashes, overlaid eyebrows, eyes, etc...)

When I was deciding whether or not to buy I took identical sized texture templates (head and body) for V3 and SP out of UV Mapper, put one over the other in Photoshop and clicked the top layer on/off - a poor man's blink comparator. There was infinitessimal movement on the nipples, and moderate movement around the outer ends of the eyebrows: if I can't do that with the liquify filter in PS I'll buy the plugin, but for now I've passed.
