Subject: Nadya or Natalia

mathman ( ) posted Wed, 25 February 2004 at 11:01 PM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 12:50 PM

Hi all, I am considering adding one or both of these ladies to my stable of Poser figures, and was wondering if I could get some feedback on them. Are they worth purchasing ? ... for those of you who own either of these, what is your opinion on them. Thanks in advance for all responses. regards, Andrew

I like Natalia because you get two characters, a human and a 3-fingered elf. She is a good model. Don't know about Nadya. Marque

Natalia has a lot of extra morphs. Such as, 3 breasts, gills, hooves and clawed feet, 4 or 5 digit hands, just to name a few. You also get Natrixa, elf type figure and both done in Possette figure shape to fit all those clothes also. That's 4 figures total. She has a unique style that I find adds to my collection of figures. Nadya is one of the few I don't have, can't help you on that one.

Aside from all of the fantasy morphs (which I am not really interested in), do you think that Natalia have a lot going for her ? thanks, Andrew

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 2:53 AM

Besides the third breast, which is more for fun, Natalia does have many useful morphs such as having the breasts sway to the sides (useful if you are posing a character lying on her side and you don't want her to look so perky she is plastic). She is flexible and easy to pose. I like her face (and it has lots of morphs, but not overwhelming). I don't have to fight to get the vickiness out of it, yet it is still a lovely shape. Fitting hair around the ears is tricky (but I'm not that experienced with it); hair which covers the ears would be no problem. I haven't used the 3-fingered variant (not into Elfquest), but it does add potential variety. I think the catsuit and boots come with the basic figure? There is a wardrobe pack (with an elegant versadress) and the mermaid addons and some textures... but being able to use the P4 version gets you a lot of wearable stuff immediately. I don't know much about Nadya... but folks over at 3dcommune can help you out with more information. I suspect that she has more clothes and 3rd party stuff, but they will be able to discuss any problems or benefits. Taking a look at possible faces and body silhouettes will give you an idea of how well either lady will work in your images. Carolly

where can you get these from please

narcissus ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 3:23 AM

At the dacort site you can download Undine Lite which is a free mermaid but is based on natalia 2,this way you can have a preview of the head morphs. I use Natalia a lot, not because she is high resolution or for the fantasy morphs but just because she looks so different from all the other ladys. There is a free bikini and a free dress for her at dacort too. I have made some free textures for her and there are other 2-3 free too if you search. I don't have Nadya so I can't tell you about her...

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 3:55 AM

Thanks for all of the feedback so far. I have noticed that Nadya's home page at http://www.aleknest.com is broken. This doesn't bode well, since all of the Nadya freebie add-ons here at Renderosity are also broken. If the link is permanently broken, then that means there will be no support either. Hmmmm.... Natalia is looking good methinks .....

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 4:08 AM

.... I don't suppose that there are any MALE characters from 3rd-party sources (i.e. not CuriousLabs and not DAZ) .... ???

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 5:21 AM

Well, Sixus has 2 male characters - for free even. Adam and Behemoth, the latter being something like the Freak, only bigger. If you use any of those, remember that Sixus Media is right now sponsoring a contest over at PlanIt3D where you can win free characters from Sixus!

Oh yes of course ! ... thanks

narcissus ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 6:51 AM

I've reworked P4 male,It's not new but it's a bit different.Make a search in the forum for Domus to see some images... The first version is ready and I'll start working the next version soon...

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 7:36 AM

Narcissus, Your new Domus character looks fantastic !! .... I downloaded him from Planit3D, but he was missing the file Domus_1_6.obj (confused ?) I also noticed you did some fine textures for Natalia, very nice :) regards, Andrew

Aleknest's website link is working for me...odd.

I have both girls, they both have their own unique features. Nadya has a ton of really cool freebies (armour by Serrge, helmets, catsuit textures, some P5 dynamic clothes) I load her up and play every so often, have only done one serious render so buying her clothes pack for me at this time isn't worthwhile.

I'll admit I'm partial as can be to Natalia...I've had her since she was 1.0 over at Daz. There is a wonderful free upgrade policy her that has allowed me to own 3.0 :p
There's a few freebies for her too, a bikini and a dress along with a ton of textures over at Dacort's site. You need to register to join.
Like someone suggested before, download Undine Lite if you want to 'try' Natalia first...she's got an amazing amount of morphs for being a freebie.

narcissus ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 8:56 AM

Mathman the files for Domus at planit3d are just textures and characters,I send them the basic pack which includes the pdf file to decode it to the Domus_1_6.obj file. I hope it will be availiable soon. I don't have a web site so anyone that wants to host Domus basic,I can mail the file!

You can get Natalia in two versions. If you're mostly interested in just a regular human figure, you can buy the Natalia 3 Basic version which is a bit cheaper. You can always upgrade to the Ultra version with all the extra body parts later if you want.

mathman ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 3:22 PM

Hmmm...the aleknest site is now giving me a "bandwidth exceeded" message.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 26 February 2004 at 11:50 PM

Hi, Dan! :waving: BTW, you guys didn't see the spider in Return of the King, did you? I was kind of rooting for ol' Shelob myself. Not only do spiders eat aphids, but I was getting mighty tired of Frodo by then. The animators did a superb job with her. ;) Now, if we could only get them to eat snails. (Spiders, that is, not animators.) Carolly

Here's one I did with Natlia's alien head morph

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

Charlie_Tuna ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2004 at 12:26 AM

forgot to add, the catsuit and boots come with her (without the wild texture that is) Light sabers are from Dodger

hauksdottir ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2004 at 3:21 AM

Charlie... Do you think anybody is going to notice a light saber with an eye-searing texture like that? Wowzers! That is probably a good candidate for a label of "unconventional weapon" Even the sand warriors with their shielding won't be able to face her for long. ;^) Hmm... reverse camouflage as a military option? Gives me an idea! Carolly

This is a pin up image I made with Natrixa.I usualy don't use body morphs,I like the default body already!

Charlie_Tuna ( ) posted Fri, 27 February 2004 at 3:23 PM

T'Kara likes 'colorful' outfits :-) Actually, Carolly, that texture is actually a reflection map from RDNA I just used it as a texture :-)

Considering that I wore a bright chrome yellow paisley nehru shirt (the same one I wore protesting Vietnam 35 years ago), to the anti-war marches in SF... downtown in the middle of a million observers... I can hardly point fingers (except in jest). There was a lot of tie-dye next to me, so maybe it is camouflage? ;^) Carolly
