Subject: MP3 File attached to picture

cableguy223 ( ) posted Sat, 28 February 2004 at 5:23 PM · edited Tue, 12 November 2024 at 10:40 PM

I want to attach a MP3 file to a pic so when someone opens it, it will play a song. Do I need any special software ( this may be just a one time thing so buying special software is out ) Any help with this will be deeply appreciated. Gary

If it's for the Galleries here it's not permitted to attach music files, if your sending it by e-mail, you might want to check your e-mail client on whether it's permitted and whether the recepients email will accept it. As far as I know Renderosity e-mails don't allow attachments.

it was for a girlfriend with her favorite song attached

Well, it would reqiure a page on the web, with coding to play the mp3 when the page was accessed, as long as she has, WinPlayer or RealPlayer, or some type of app like them on her computer she would be able to hear the song when she went to that page... You could set it up on a free host, and then send her the link in an email....

Great idea, thank you. I'll give it a try

You'll want to use the tag. The syntax would be: Hopefully this won't automatically format out the html tag.

Heh. Lemme try this again...

There, that should work.

celestial-badger ( ) posted Sun, 29 February 2004 at 9:09 PM

Okay, appartly it won't let me use the code for a less than sign. I will get it this time. Use this tag, but leave out the asterisk: <*embed src="name of file" autostart="true">

Hi C-B Careful about linking songs to images. We used to do that quite a bit last summer and they made us quit because of copyright concerns with the creators of the music and, I suppose, the recording industry moguls and Metallica who are all up in arms about mp3 trading. It was really cool to have music that matched the vibe of the image play upon viewing and I really miss it but the admins made us quit...

I understand and appreciate the advice, but this is just going to be a one time thing. It's basiclly going to be a pic/painting I have done with a young lady's favorite song attached to it. Hopfully they wont sue me over that. Thank you again Gary " the cable guy "
