Subject: Object property window not updating

Hi, using Poser 5 on an xp home system with 1.5 gb ram and 300 mhz processor. I did apply the CL updates to P5. This is a new computer and P5 flies on it! :) I apply head injections, expression inj's, etc to V3 and the object/properties window often does not reflect the injection. Last night, I clicked off "head" and went to "neck" and back to "head" and they appeared. This morning, an injection pose appeared in the 'head' morph list but when I added others, they never did display. Anyone seen this sort of erratic behavior in P5? Thanks, steve

Yes, it's normal in P5 to have to deselect then reselect the part being injected for the dials to appear. "...an injection pose appeared in the 'head' morph list but when I added others, they never did display" This isn't normal, though. You deselected the reselected the head? Could it be you just didn't see it? Maybe it got put somewhere in the middle of the dials or something.

Hmmm, that is possible that it appeared somewhere else in the dials. I did deselect and reselect though. I'll keep playing with it. I am just having SO much fun with P5 now that I can actually use it. Takes a mighty machine to handle it though. :)

Using Vicki3. I applied an Expressions morph to her when I had Figure 1, Head selected and it never showed up. In fact, under head/Object/Properties I see this. Under Neck, all morphs were missing. This has been happening a lot. I also am very reluctant to render with Firefly Production because most times it just stops at one point. I have 1.5 gb RAM, 300mhz cpu, 3096 mb initial size for pagefile and a total of 6096 mb for it. I can't figure out where the problem is here. My machine surely should be able to handle things. Perhaps my Poser install is corrupted?? I did apply SP 3 and 4 to it.

An expression pose won't work unless the specific morphs for that expression are injected. For example, if you have a smile pose it won't do anything until you inject the smile morph.

Oh HO! So, that solves one problem, thanks. But I never did insert the image I wanted to show. I wonder why the above happens? I can go to Neck and get the same thing, Chest and get the same thing. I can't even do breast morphs with V3 or SP3. lol

I believe that happens after you use a REM pose to remove morphs injected by an INJ pose. All morphs removed by the REM pose will appear as dashes with zeroes until you deselect then reselect the part.

I get that even if I don't use a REM pose. hmmm.

Okay, that's real strange. What do you do right before that appears?

ssalter ( ) posted Fri, 05 March 2004 at 8:45 PM

Well...I am starting all over. I had purchased a new computer a week ago. All week I have loved the speed and power of the new machine but I've had strange crashes, etc, etc. I took the new machine in today and swapped it for a duplicate this morning and just now reinstalled Poser5 and all the figures, poses, materials, etc. I am going to test this out and see if I get the same problems. All my problems could have been due to the other machine. If I experience the same Poser probs, I;ll post again. Thanks.
