Subject: When I Vote.....

SNAKEY ( ) posted Tue, 02 March 2004 at 1:39 AM ยท edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 6:24 PM

I sat down and went through some of the artists work that I had Voted in the past and was trying to understand why I had voted it. This included the Bryce gallary, the Poser Gallery, the 3d max gallary and so on. I have been able to get it straight now and this how I Voted.... Since, I was and am not a pro in any of them wares or even photography, I am more or less like a child who has come to a carnival for the first time and I see things through that eye of the child. Nevertheless, I notice, I have been following a pattern while Voting. I have no fix standards set in my mind when I vote. I may have several standards for several artists. A newbie in Bryce can never be rated among the pros but then .........I Vote for the Child that has learnt to crawl........ I vote for the child that has learnt it's first walk....... I vote others for their long walk........ I vote some for their Race. They are all not the same but then, each, his own level which needs appreciation. Also, having voted once or twice, my expectations from certin artists have reached a new high and I look forward to the higher standards in future and when I see them throw another Hat in the Ring, I vote again. No, I am not saying, I am the wisest of all and follow a wise pattern. Sometimes, it's just my mood, some image may remind me of something pleasant and I vote for it. I may just be happy about something and may go happy clicking Vote for all you know. When I Vote, it is a Pat on the back for my sincere heartfelt appreciation and I may not be ranking you in a proffessional way. Some very proffessional work may go beyond my understanding and I have failed to comment even. Yes, I also wish to mention the many posts that I have never had the time to reach, I just miss them due to lack of time to view all. That is what is so special about this place... people like me can also express their appreciation in the best of way possible. My sincere thanks to many of you other than the co ordinators and moderators who have with their wisdom helped keep this place a wonderful place to learn and share. I owe you all my VOTE!!! SNAKEY

Very well said! claps I agree, same here, when i vote it's not always because an image is so good, sometimes it's because you can see someone has put in a lot of effort and came out with something that's not all that bad. You just appreciate or admire the time they take to do these things. Some photography for example, taking photos isn't the hardest of things its more the creativity that makes photography something great. If for example someone had to do something incredibly stupid and dangerous to take a shot i admire the fact that they did it just for the viewing pleasure of other people. the other thing with art is there are no boundaries to what is percieved as a great art piece. Almost every individual has a different way of percieving things for the first or second times, even the third time you look at something you might be compelled in a different way. Art is how you express yourself, there is no greatest artist, there are only great 'artists' how can you judge something so extensive. Greetings Chris
