Trying from the kitchen window with the window open - definitely sharper images...

These are great pics...so clear and sharp....if you're shooting from inside, what distance are you from them? My next question: how do you make the background so blurred?

Thieves.. hehe =) These are terrific! =)

These are fabulous.... especially love the Chipmunk... gotta love them.... I'm curious Wolf because I've been thinking of doing the same thing for a while now.... do you have a curtain or something else hiding you from view? Also is your camera noisy? My auto-shutter advance on the Nikon N90s is rather loud and I'm worried that it will scare them away....

I am, therefore I create.......

I'm shooting from inside my kitchen with 2 tripos legs literally set in the kitchen sink. I have 2 feeders set up about 15 feet from the window, and there are a lot of branches anywhere from 10 to 20 feet. Past that, there's pretty much nothing until the back of the yard (80 feet or so). I'm shooting with a Nikon D-100 and a 300mm Nikkor usually set around f5.6, which blurs the background pretty well. About the only thing I do to camoflage myself is wear a dark, long sleeve shirt. The noise of the camera doesn't seem to bother them too much - they may be used to hearing dishes clanging around in there, though.

So crisp and clean that you think you can touch them. Fantastic wildlife shots. Think I'll head up to my farm and drop some seeds around.
