Also the animals on the CD do not pose well at all. Any major deviation from the default pose causes them to break apart. Basically, I'd say that he needs to completely re-work all of them. In their present form, they are not at all worth what I paid for them. At best they're freebie material.

They reissued it? They offered that guy free a couple of years ago. I really like him. He's pretty realistic. It would look better with real fur, but it still looks pretty good. I wish they'd put something else up for grabs. It's been ages since they've given a new freebie away. The moose was a little goofy looking, but I've used it in the distance. Melanie
Only one thing to add... Last I knew, Dedicated Digital was just one guy, and it isn't even his fulltime gig. None of the animals were desinged for Poser. He's simply tried to convert them in order to open up a new market without really having mastered Poser. -SMT
I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!
Hello, I am a bit confused. Are the Dedicated Digital models the same as Lynn's animals on vistainterproducts.com? Thank you. Warm Regards, Nancy

No. The Dedicated Digital models are completely different. THey are made by a different person. Vistainternetproducts.com (VIP) has what many consider to be the best animals available for poser.
thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)
Thank you very much. I did buy some of the DD models a while back. I did not like them much either.

Sorry but I asked specifically and on my CD it shows that it IS for Poser. When I ordered the CD they told me that they were Poser models. If he's selling the CD it doesn't matter if he works 24-7, that's no excuse for a bad product that he took my money for and never answered emails or calls. I am SO tired of that same litany...oh, don't be upset that the product is bad, he works for a living. Well so do most of us who give our hard-earned money for a bad product and no support. Sorry to vent but enough is enough!!! There is NO comparison between Lynn's excellent work and the dedicated digital products Nancy. Marque
He definitely shouldn't be able to take money and not provide what he advertises. I know I wouldn't want to have to go through all 150 models on that CD and rework the cr2's to point to the right files. There were about 30 in the tiger cr2 alone. I guess thats why he doesn't have an email or any other way to contact him on his site(complaints??).
I do see he points people to sites where his CD is sold however and if enough people complained they may either tell him to fix it or no longer offer it for sale. Seems to me that a few of us here did that once before when some members had a similar problem with getting ripped off by someone who was selling similarly defective models etc. and it worked.
(And I wonder how the other formats do or if some of them also have similar problems. Think I will try the Lightwave and Max ones to see:)
All I know is that it referenced material that was not present in the one I downloaded four days ago. So why yours works well without any problems and I had to change the cr2 is anyones guess. As far as how it works once I modified the cr2 I have no complaints about it. It seems, however, that there are a few people who are not happy with the Cd they paid thier hard earned money for and if they can't contact the person who created and sells the Cd (and I did a very thorough search of his site) to ask about thier concerns one can't blame them for venting here about it. After all, a hundred bucks is a hundred bucks which could buy a few other Cd's with some pretty good stuff on them right here at Renderosity. :)
Maybe I just see things differently, but I've really liked the DD animals. I have several, including a little Chihuahua(sp?) and they've always seems pretty realistic to me. I love that tiger and I've used it in several renders. I don't have the CD because of the price, but I've grabbed all the freebies they've offered. Melanie
Just out of curiosity I did a render with the firefly engine using the ray trace option. I used the number one "watching" pose. It was a disaster with broken seams and mismatched stripes etc. In the poser render engine this is not apparent unless you really really look hard for it. The render had the tiger with a -90 degree rotation to it and the texture breaks on the hip, the head from the top of skull to the corner of the mouth. there is a bit of a break on the front shoulder to the chest but because of the angle it is ot really as noticable as the other ones. I have also used a few other models from DD but perhaps the problem is that when most of the models and textures were made I remember we were at the time using Poser 3 which wasn't quite as revealing as perhaps Poser 5 is so the faults wqere not noticeable. Don't misunderstand me as since I got the tiger for free I am not complaining. Plus I am pretty good in postwork and can cover up any problems I ever come across. I just know if I had paid for it I would not be real pleased. As a freebie I don't have anycomplaints though:) .
Marque, I just tried my tiger and the head moves just fine. I wonder if you got a bad one, or if your computer is doing something strange. What version of Poser are you using? I'm using P4. I don't now where I got them, but I have a set of bengal tiger poses that are very nice. Could there be a difference between the free one and the one on the CD? I don't have the CD, just the freebie download. My dog works OK too. The moose is sort of odd looking, but he looks all right in the distance. Melanie
All of the cd animals are like this. The free ones work fine, but I wonder if that wasn't meant to get folks to buy the cd. I based my decision on the tiger the first time it was released. My free tiger doesn't have this problem. I'm on P4 with the pro pack, haven't tried it in P5 yet. If you take it in and look at the bones they are all wrong. I've been meaning to re-do them but haven't had the time. I actually paid $145 for the cd so I guess other folks got off light by only paying $100. Oh well, live and learn. Marque

Anyone else here try this sites free "Bengal Tiger" for poser and have a problem with it?? Like looking for files that don't appear in the zip?? Just curious as there is apparently no way I can find on thier site to inform them of this problem. Too bad as it looks like a good model from the picture of it.
