A thread by hutchingsm reminded me of Adamite's materials that he made available to us to store for download via the Bryce Backroom.

They include materials to simulate Scanning Electron Microscope pics, X-ray pics, and a set of cool Iridescent Metal mat's.

In case you're new enough you hadn't heard of these, check'em out!

Take link for download page.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Sun, 26 September 2004 at 9:39 PM

There is hope for a Poser version with the P6 and P5 mat labs. I have one that is not quite right. Will work on it over the next few weeks perhaps.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 22 April 2005 at 1:44 AM

I agree. By now, with what Poser 5 & 6 Materials labs are capable of, I'm sure there can be some sort of equivalent created. I've not seen a lot of people truly cracking the new power of the Poser Mat Lab nodes. With time... AS

There's a lot of power in the mat labs. I've been using the translucent node in P5 to simulate subsurface scattering and quite frankly, its just about as good as the new SSS that comes with P6. Maybe we can find a way to translate the Bryce texture editor to Poser nodes. Hmmm.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 22 April 2005 at 2:36 AM

Yeah, I had been looking at a member that was using some shader nodes in P5 for seudo SSS effect for skin. The effect has been taken further in P6. Interesting stuff. (member "face_off" - their products in the MP)
