Subject: rendering for post work

I am new the world of poser and I am taking to it like a fish in water. My biggest problem is what is the recommended render size for post work. I would like to have my works printed professionally at 17.5" by 11", and all my test prints at 8.5" by 11" look...well... PIXALIE.
I am using poser 4 pro pack and test my renders at 8.5 by 8.5 at 172 dpi and they look like crap when printed on MY printer. What is the recommended size and dpi for 17.5 by 11. All input is appreciated

300 dpi per inch for printing. 8by10 would be 2400 by 3000 For post work render big big big. It is easier to see flaws and get details and then size down a copy. Add a white border around your image just so you are sure never to loose any edge. -Anton

Test renders I always do at 800x600 at 72 dpi(or smaller) when I am satisfied , a render at 1024x768 to check the final problems I took out and when I am completely satisfied everything is positioned ok I make a final render at: 2000x1500 at 300 dpi ,that usually gives a great result, specially if you want to print it in a big size. Be aware though, If you have a multiple character, lots of lights scene, it could take a lot of time to do this, usually I let these render at night(or during footbal)and postwork the next day.
