The number at top list "surfers" on line. The number at the bottom of who's on line list "members loged on". I don't know, but don't a lot of people have links to their gallery images posted eleswheres. In other words can't someone use a link to view a picture here...but not be a member or need to log in? SWAMP
As far as I know you need to be logged in to see the pictures in the galleries too... I know I have had some friends sign up to see mine...

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
We have visitors that can view members gallerys' directly without having to be a member. Frontpage is viewable without having to be a member so it could be visitors that is why we say surfers instead of members at the top listing. Or it could be search engines using their bots or worms to update their information. The Who's Online is strictly members. thanks tammy

I just noticed something odd... Right now, it says, at the top, 1978 surfers currently online yet when I go to the "Who's online" the number is WAY smaller, listing 806 members currently logged in. As there's very little you can do on this site without being logged in, I wonder how 1172 people can be here and apparently do nothing?! Unless the "surfers online" is nothing but a marketing trick to make the site appear more busy than it is?! :o)
