Subject: Windows Explorer Tooltips for Carrara Files

I am putting together an extension for the Windows Explorer that adds tool tips for Carrara files. Does anyone have anything that they would like to see in the tool tip? The example above simply includes the comment. I will also be adding in additional columns for those of us who view files in the "Details" view and if I can work out the format producing some thumbnails as well.

Nice! Where are you going to store the information to appear in the tool tip? Is it pulled from the file?

Yes, only information that is already in the file is displayed. I was thinking along the lines of a summary of number of shader,lights,objects etc. Depends what I can extract really.

Mabey you could make it display the scene comments as well as the scene thumbnail. The scene comments are not too hard because because opening a .car file in notepad shows them located a few lines down under "comm". The scene preview is another matter, hehehe... Good luck. Do you know if the SDK has been updated yet. I Downloaded it in January and there are some parts that were not finished.
