I remember the site 'From 3D to Real' was the article, on using a lasered polymer to create a 3d model. The character was from BASSHOLE, Icepond Productions http://www.bassholemovie.com/characters.htm I can't fing the link to the company that does the models though...accessing....

I couldn't find the link or article either. I don't know if either of these was the company in question, but they seem to offer similar services to what was in the article. This company mentions Rhino files as being one of the accepted formats.Attached Link: and another one
OOops! Here's another one. This outfit uses laser stereo-lithography for building their protos.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1536692
I think you're talking about a post by foleypro back about November. Here's the link to that post and to the article referenced there. (sorry, don't know how to put two clickable links here!) http://www.cgnetworks.com/story_custom.php?story_id=1549&page=It is a very exciting machine, not only can 3D sculptures be done but also it can be used to CUTOUT things by using a greyscale or height map(DEM)we are talking about offering the service of special custom sides and cases cutout by this Machine...Things are moving slowly but hopefully by the end of summer we will be ready for everything.. Yep I am still going to be doing this,as a seperate service OUTSIDE of Renderosity...I asked for some information about offering this service to Renderosity thru US and I never was contacted back and then the service was offered by Renderosity Thru somebody else,So basically I am setting up the whole shebang and we will be offering to undercut most other offers...Kinda like that commercial..."We will stand on our heads to make you a deal"

Hi there... About a year ago there was a link to a site that had a technique that showed how to make your 3d model into a real world model. There was a model of a turtle as example for the whole proces. I know how they did it but would still like to see the website again to show to some friends. Does anybody of you have it bookmarked?
