Subject: Poser 5, Service Release 4.1 - Depth Map Shadows

Curious_Labs ( ) posted Tue, 16 March 2004 at 5:34 PM · edited Sun, 28 July 2024 at 12:16 AM

Hi

Some people experienced problems within the Depth Map Shadow feature in Poser 5, following the use of Service Release 4.0. Curious Labs has corrected this problem which is available through Service Release 4.1, now available from http://www.curiouslabs.com/go/sr4/

............ please read the "Read Me" file for the installation instructions. Also a note from our technical department........ Curious Labs tris creating updaters that will work with existing installations as seamlessly as possible - however given that a user's Poser directory can be in varying states of organization, it is always the "safest" method for those with concerns - to apply the updater to a clean install of the application."

Last, I wanted to mention that we may have caused a little bit of confusion yesterday. The files for SR4.1 were accidently made public before everyone internally knew and before external communication (especially to the forums announcing availability) was organized. Our sincere apologies for this confusion!

Kind regards,
Katherine

Just to clarify, we do not expect anyone to need to install SR4.1 through a clean installation method. Our statement on the clean install is only a precautionary statement for those who make modifications to Posers default installation as it may offer in inconsistent state which could possibly result in unexpected behavior. With this in mind, our instructions and expectations are for SR4.1 to successfully be installed to the existing installation. Kind regards, Katherine

You get some cool Daz animals if you get the Vue and Mover 4 package.... a bear, a camel, and a charger horse.... Thanks Katherine for the fix! I tried it on my "dirty" install and it worked just fine.

Oh, sorry..... :) I was jokin around.... of course I've seen the disappointment comments b4.... just thought if someone had to get some animals, there is another way... I don't need new animals, I need shadow maps to work... and now they do.... just thought I'd stir the pot the other way! No real biggie. I'm in that sort of mood today... didn't mean to spend your money for you.:)
