Subject: Questions regarding Mimic and Poser 5

Man O' War ( ) posted Wed, 17 March 2004 at 8:06 AM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 11:48 PM

Several weeks ago I received an email from DAZ about the new Mimic LW plugin and in addition a link to an update for MimicPro (2.1?). In any case, I tossed the email, but now venturing onto DAZ's site, I can't find any reference to the update. Does anyone know the link or even if it exists? Also, for work solely with Mimic, does Poser5 work any easier or better than Poser4? With regard to Poser5 animating, is the process any easier or better than Poser4 or PoserPro? TIA manowar

the Link to the PC version of Mimic pro is dead.

Yes, it appears all the links are dead. Also, the mentioned links supposedly occurring at the bottom of the product pages aren't there. I just sent a note off to Daz and should I get a reply, I'll let you know. The linkage may be particular solely to purchasers of the product and thus its short-lived and "direct" notification. We'll see. manowar

Try the product page at the bottom. Updates are usually there.

Well I don't remember being notified about the update. -_-

It appears to be 2.1 for Mimic and MimicPro. However in trying to apply the upgrade, it doesn't install due to not finding a file. I may have 2.1 already, but finding out through Daz's over complex GUI is something else. manowar

You need to browse to you Mimic 2 or Pro folder. Dont just click next.

Thanks, I did. manowar

The update file didn't work for me although I tried browsing to every folder I could think of, reinstalled Mimic Pro 2 and checked the disk with the disk utility. I emailed DAZ about it and I got a link to the whole package in my account, and that worked of course. I'm on Mac OSX.

I'm also on MacOS X and that's perhaps the problem. I will get an email off today. Thank you for your help. manowar

I wis they would make a Mimic forum!!! And a list of where to find the best wave files would be great too. People could just add to the list if they know of any.
