i think one possibility is to render the animation into a sequence of jpgs and then use another tool (or iMovie) to make a film from that. Very simple and effective. The problem with rendering animations are not the compression rates or types, it is the time the 3D software - each 3D software - needs for dealing with the big amount of information. You will find out, that there are very few Mac users, especially that do animation here in that forum. And i haven't done any animation for years anymore. Therfore i can't help you as you maybe expect it. Sorry.

Thanks again Walther. I never considered the possibility that there would be few people on here that do animations, but yeah, that makes sense since there isn't an animation area on renderosity. I'll definately try out the jpeg idea. I know I have a lot to learn. Any idea of any websites I could check out that deal with animation topics or have forums like this one? Thanks for the advice.

If anyone read my last post then you know I'm very interested in creating animations, but because of the extremely long render times associated with animations they tend to be limited to very small clips. I'm wondering if there is a way to compress short animations into a video format that I can load into iMovie, so I can create a very long animation over time by editing and pasting it together. I am also a composer of 15 years, so I could then create an underlying soundtrack within iMovie for the animation once it is done and burn it to DVD using iDVD and my superdrive. Anyone know if this is possible and how to do it? If so, could you suggest any tutorials that may be available on the subject? Also, does anyone know if it could be done in Quicktime or Quicktime Pro, or if I need to buy Vue 4 Pro to accomplish this? I would prefer to stay in the realm of all these cool programs that came with my Mac since they all sync so well together, or in the case of Vue 4 Pro and QT Pro just worrying about an upgrade. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
