The 3D technology is by a company called My Virtual Model - here's their link if you want to browse, but I couldn't find any mention of the nuts 'n' bolts.MVm has been around for about four years, and, uses a proprietary system that's actually image based at the core (or was, originally). Some of the prinicpals behind it were active in the old mirai communites a while back, as well
thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)
Hauksdottir: It's really funny. You have to "register" and then put in some numbers and colors - defining your model. Which is stored within a cookie (I believe) because you can go to other stores via the link to mvm and take your model with you. I didn't try to go to the extreme numbers - that would have disturbed my dreams - but I think, the model reacts to some degree ("younger" or "mature" face, for instance). Willy
I used a tape measure, and entered the most current, accurate numbers... even the thighs. I'm not vain... being a poet as well as an artist, I know that beauty isn't measured by conformation to anybody's ideal. And if clothes are to fit, they need to be loose enough to sit down in without splitting. Over the years, I've ordered many things from LandsEnd. They offered incredible value on cashmere turtlenecks (especially when they had the tunic-length models which look good on a 5'-10" frame and cover up my butt). Warm and sturdy flannel pyjamas. Slippers. I never ordered jeans, because that really is something I have to try on, but everything else fits well and wears well. Carolly
Well, I didn't want to input my own body measures - too much for the eye! I just guessed them. That was particularly difficult with the length of the torso (from between the legs up to the left shoulder down the back to the beginning). As I hadn't a woman at hand I had to calculate (around 80 inches). Can anybody tell me, if I was right? ;-) Willy
OMG! Nope! This I would never do! Honestly! If I were in need for data of a pear shaped body I could've used my own! Ya know - beer belly and other typical legacy of good nutrition and lazyness - a body/mass-index of 32! As I usually don't drink much beer (once a month, at max) this is injust like h**l. And a chocolate bar here and there - who would deny this to me? But there are plusses too: the center of mass is appreciably low. I can't keel over that fast! :-) Willy (dreaming on) PS: This thread is getting out of hand very fast!
