Subject: Poser 5 Hair Question

I recently got Poser and bought some add on stuff and for some reason I am having a hair "collision problem :( I am using DAZ Vicky 3 and Sassy hair 2.0 I believe. The problem I'm having is that the hair is going through the body instead of over :( I tried playing with the x y and z dials...turning on collision detection, rendering to be sure it wasn't just the view but to no avail. I played with this for atleast 4 hours...I'm comletely frustrated. I tried just "growing" my own hair but I'm not quite ready for that LOL Anyway...all I want is the hair to flow over the shoulders....if anyone can help me figure this out I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks for reading this :) Ann0314

This seems to be quite the popular complaint today. ;-) I'm not familiar with the hair model you mentioned, but if it's not dynamic hair, there's really not a whole lot of things you could do aside from resizing the figure or the hair or both. I know you mentioned already you played with the dials for a while. If the final render is going to be for a still image, then at least you'll have the option of postworking out the imperfections. If it's for animation, then I feel for you. :-( If it's dynamic hair you're working with, then try checking the other thread about the subject several posts down and you'll see it's an ongoing problem, again fixable for still images, but not so fixable for animations.

Oh, and it just occured to me to suggest that you make sure you have conformed the hair to the figure using the conform option only IF the hair is conforming hair. Check your documentation on the product to find out. Perhaps posting a sample image of the problem would help resolve it as well.

Haven't used it, but sassy hair isn't dynamic. Can't say if it's a conforming or parented version, though it will be stated on the product page.

Well...I guess that's that then :( Well, atleast it wasn't me...lol...I know the hair isn't conforming and since I'm not sure what parented is (sadly) I guess I will have to figure something else out :( Thanks so much for trying to help-I thought I was just doing something silly...atleast it makes me feel better to know it wasn't me :)

select the hair and try the VictoriaFit dial; bottom of the list of morph dials.
