Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Yeah, I've done this and it's fine for a single pose, but for animation there are still some collision problems, even with all the collision detection options selected. But thanks for the info!

I've done a LOT of fiddling around in the Hair room and I recently made some interesting discoveries, the most important is the strange behavior of the "Bend Resistance" dial. I believe the default value of this dial is something like .8 which is WAAAAY wrong. .01 is more like it. Simply setting this dial to a very low number will make hair simulations go much better. P.S. Get SR4 there are lots of improvements. Nerd

Thanks to the helpful members that responded to my last thread about hair collision. I started playing around some more and found something that may interest you. I checked the collision detection in the parameters's properties of the body parts, such as the head, neck, etc.(parts that will collide with the hair), then ran the simulation with the "do collisions" box enabled in the hair room. It actually worked pretty well for the most part. If you use the stock dynamic hair supplied with Poser, the simulation will run a lot quicker using Judy. But for some crazy reason, I usually have to run the simulation twice before it takes effect. And if you have Vue 4 with the latest update, it doesn't take long to run a preview animation with shadows....half the time Poser takes to run a preview without shadows. Anyway, I hope this is helpful.
