E-on Software Ships Mover 5 DYNAMIC CLOTH AND HAIR ANIMATION SUPPORT ADDED TO FREE UPGRADE March 19, 2004. Beaverton, OR. E-on software, the industry leader in natural, outdoor 3D graphics, announces the immediate availability of Mover 5, the most popular tool for hosting native format Curious Labs Poser 5 content. Mover continues to be the first and best third party commercial tool for integrating animated, native Poser content with an external environment. Mover 5 is the delivery on the commitment to our shared community of 3D artists, said Nicholas Phelps, president of e-on software. With Mover 5, Vue dEsprit 4 and Vue 4 Professional can import complete Poser 4 and Poser 5 animations, including specialty features in Poser 5 such as dynamic cloth and hair. Mover 5 supports anisotropic reflections, a requirement for an accurate and natural representation of hair in 3D rendering. "Vue and Mover 5 provide Poser 5 users with the best way to leverage rich human animation in a lush, dynamic, natural setting. The natural motion of cloth and hair on the human form have found the perfect environment with windswept forests and animated skies," said Marc Keohane, President of Curious Labs. Mover 5 for Windows and Mac OS X expands on the already powerful animation in e-on softwares Vue dEsprit 4 and Vue 4 Professional, allowing for inclusion of fully animated digital characters, enhanced, new motion effects, and network rendering. It also includes over $200 worth of Poser models from Daz Productions, Dedicated Digital and Trilium36. Mover 5 is available for $99 and requires Poser 4 or 5 for Poser animation import and use of Poser models. Owners of Mover 4 qualify for a free downloadable upgrade to Mover 5. Owners of Vue 4 Professional and Mover 4 can automatically download and install the free upgrade directly from within Vue 4 Professional. You'd better rework your C++ roots, so Vue Pro will stop crashing :-( TJ PS; PLEASE don't answer me with this "anti-piracy" joke!

Troll.

RR is full of Trolls no surprise.

Zicculus ( ) posted Fri, 19 March 2004 at 3:08 PM

Be Nice. Its still in Beta from what I can tell.

What get me is, "With Mover 5, Vue dEsprit 4 and Vue 4 Professional can import COMPLETE Poser 4 and Poser 5 animations, including specialty features in Poser 5 such as dynamic cloth and hair. Mover 5 supports anisotropic reflections, a requirement for an accurate and natural representation of hair in 3D rendering."

Complete is not true for the Avi's won't come in that are on objects in your poser scene. The dynamic cloth and hair don't work in this Beta either. At least not for me.

gebe ( ) posted Fri, 19 March 2004 at 3:34 PM

No, it is NOT in beta. It is the final version. Just let them update their site. You always are saying the opposite what members and e-on says. I don't know why, I would like to help you but I don't know how, dear?

Zicculus ( ) posted Fri, 19 March 2004 at 4:25 PM

I'll try again and keep some virtual fingers crossed.

jwhitham ( ) posted Fri, 19 March 2004 at 7:21 PM

Zicculus,

you accused me of not helping you, but you've never asked for help. In what way do dynamic cloth and hair not work for you? If you can define your specific problems, maybe I could offer help. I don't know much, but the little I do know is centred around dynamics and animation. Try me.

Like you I really wish that Vue supported the video textures and displacement mapping from P5, but I've never seen e-on claim that it would. I've some issues with Vue Pro too, but I find it impossible to express them in a forum where I know they're are just going to be used by a troll for a mud-slinging excercise. If you really wish to see improvements in the software, moderate your language, join the community.

John

"The dynamic cloth and hair don't work in this Beta either. At least not for me. " Well they do for me (if I get to th rendering without a crash). Have you made P5 calculate them ?? TJ

Zicculus ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2004 at 8:15 PM

P5 works great for me. Its Vue that imports half-fast my P5 scenes.

Zicculus ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2004 at 8:22 PM

Looks like its Beta to me. Hit this link and then read the details and the rest is Beta

If the link doesn't work, here's how it reads, "NEW! Support of Curious Labs' Poser 5 (advanced Poser 5 features such as dynamic hair and cloth simulation are not supported). "

TheJoker and Zicculus, e-on is not speaking about Vue 4.2, e-on is speaking about MOVER 5! That's a very different thing. Have you purchased Mover 4? Then update for free. Otherwise you must buy Mover 5.

aprilrosanina ( ) posted Sun, 21 March 2004 at 11:29 AM

So if you own Vue4 and Mover4, an you upgrade to Vue 4.22, with the free Mover 5 upgrade, will Poser 5 dynamic hair and cloth now be supported in Vue4? Do I understand that correctly?

gebe ( ) posted Sun, 21 March 2004 at 11:36 AM

As it is said at e-onsoftware: Mover 5 Mover 5 updates are included in Vue 4 updates Yes, Mover 5 supports dynamic hair and cloth as it is also said: What Can I Do With It? With Mover 5 you can import complete Poser 4 or 5 animated scenes, enhance them with Dynamic Motion Reaction technology and new motion effects, and then render your creation over a network. Mover 5 adds unprecedented realism to your character animations thanks to the support of Poser 5's dynamic hair* and cloth engines. *Fast computer recommended. All the infos are at e-onsoftware.com

TheJoker ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 6:51 AM

I know this topic is about Mover 5 ;-) It crashes anyway. I'll see with the 268493 update... Regards TJ

aprilrosanina ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 8:13 AM

gebe: thank you for the clarification. I understand that some parts of e-on software's site have that information, but as was pointed out above, the page with the Vue 4.22 update specifically says that Poser 5 hair and cloth are NOT supported, so you can see why some people are confused. :)

gebe ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 8:26 AM

Where can you see that Poser 5 hair and cloth are NOT supported, april? I cannot find it anywhere:-(

Berserga ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 9:43 AM

I sure hope they fixed the problem with broadcast renders crashing. I'm pretty afraid to install the update again since I am heavily using mover for an ongoing animation project at the moment

videodv ( ) posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 8:16 PM

if you look at the top of the page you will see the following Update to Version 4.2 (includes Mover 4.2 Update) This is not the current update with full poser dynamic input. I have on my machine vue 4.2 (with mover 4) and vue pro (with mover 4) when I installed the latest update, both versions of vue now use mover 5 and work as advertised. videodv.

gebe ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 3:46 AM

That's exact. Only Mover 5 supports the dynamics.

TheJoker ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 6:18 AM

Latest Vue Pro update is 268493, and includes the update of Mover to Mover 5. It works for me. TJ
