Whilst trolling the A-files section of Ananova.com, I noticed a wireframe image of Ananova in progress. The mesh looked familiar... Counterclockwise, from upper left hand corner is Ananova interviewing Kylie Minogue, a 300% enlargement of the .GIF I noticed, and the default P4 Nude Woman in front. Coincidence?

It may be a custom version created by Zygote just for them; I'm not sure.

I'm betting it wouldn't take too many morphs to turn Posette into Ananova, if the meshes are the same, perhaps not even any custom ones. Then again, Zygote does offer custom modeling services...

Looking at your compilation, I'd say it was the same base mesh. Good detective work. Now what about Kylie? Do you think she's based on Posette?

Needless to say, the folks at Zygote are excited by the possibility, although they won't rule out Ananova using the same mesh sold to them in some other format than Poser. If and when the techs at Ananova respond I'll post the reply here. > Now what about Kylie? Do you think she's based on Posette? Kylie herself is clearly documented as being a reconditioned window dummy from Brisbane retrofitted with a voicebox and enough acting skills to make it in Aussie soap operas (see Fembots: Natalie Imbruglia, Squeakdroids: Rick Springfield). In the interview, she mistakes the A-Files' section on 3-space lookalikes as actually being one of the models for Ananova.

Hmmmmmm, Natalie Imbruglia. I should be so lucky.

Ananova is made by Digital Animations of glasgow, the reason I know this is because an old school friend of mine did the print (Hi-Res) version of the hair. I'll ask him if the mesh was original or not.

for what i know Ananova was modelled from scratch in lightwave, but might be they used the posette mesh and just modified. they don't look much different I'm remodelling poser work with AM now and it's not that complicated to build a similar mesh. -Ede

VIDandCGI and Ede, I eagerly await your research. Well, last night I started fiddling with the default nude P4 Posette and the chin, cheekbones, and (with modifications) the nose are the same. Eyes appear to be mostly the same, possibly the outer corners raised a bit (but that could be the texture). Ana's extremely bright lighting from all lights cancels out the hollow in Posette's jaw below the cheek. The mouth is the major change. What Zygote was using as a basis for human proportions I don't know, but my anatomy books generally end the mouth corners somewhere around the inside edges of the pupils. Because of this, Posette has a lot of disturbing Carly Simon moments while making faces. The morphs necessary to make Ananova's mouth are available, but my attempts overstretch a polygon above each lip corner and create a distracting pointy bulge. The lips are rounded (esp. the bottom, removing the default plateau in the center), narrowed, and somehow moved to make the upper teeth more visible than the lower when the lips open (I did it, but I forget how). The other morph is the "smooth eyebrows", to make the texture carry the weight. I can't think of a one mentioned above that can't be found at http://morphs.bbay.com/html/fem_morphs.html, the motherlode. Attempts will be posted as they start to stop sucking.
