THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: OK, I'm an idiot!

I really am you know. I've been rendering an image for 5 Days and last night I had a look at it and it was finished. So this morning I opened it up to see how it looked and guess what, I'd closed Bryce last night without saving. How dumb can I get! This means that I've now got to wait for another 2 days for it to finish again, I'm so mad at myself right now I could scream. 8( Catlin

LOL! I've done the samething =-) usually I'll build a scene up just perfect...then forget so save, ...or crash bryce. I need bryce to automaticly save like every 5 mins.

oh man.....don't you just hate it when you do something like that....I do that alot lately...too much to think about....hope to see it soon. Sharen

bin there with the tee shirt, also have you done the switching between programmes only to find youve interrupted the render, or even better the 'i'll just add a quick bit here before saving , to a large scene and the lot crashes. or....the list goes on, many many sympathies tho

I've done this once or twice, but not on such a long render as that. Just give me enough time... :c) and I will!

Oh Catlin, thats almost as bad as poking yourself in the eye with a sharp stick! I feel for you but I think youre being a little too harsh on yourself. Weve all done similar things and will probably continue to do so. Better luck on the next render.

@allengraph - i try to keep a mantra going in my head while i work: "save me... save me... save me...". Like the little voice of the project pleading to me from RAM.

Ouch. My commiserations. And welcome to the club. :-) Remember when I let an image render for two days before noticing that I rendered without the central model?

I think I have had something similar, but I don think it was rendering that long. I have had a scene that was the worst thing just to save, because it took a day just to save it, but that was 200MB.

Geez,...........I though I was the only one who did that. I attribute it to old age. Bummer !

Ooohhh... Catlin. Not fun.8( Don't feel bad though. I have about 5 images started that I have done something similar to that with.... It sucks, but things could be worse. Things could be better; but they could be worse. Wade

Too easy done (worst one I've ever done was at work had mulitple applications open, doing some forecast analysis (what if we did this type stuff) closed and saved my spreadsheet or so I thought, I'd changed a data model containing our product release forecast data, the system automatically emailed 500 people to tell them I'd changed the release data etc etc. I had to write a special piece of code to unwind the changes and tell everyone that I'd done it. (How embarrassing is that for an IT manager???)

Well I was sort of lucky that I'd saved it the day before and at the moment it now has about 3 hours to go, so all is not lost. 8) Bryster that is the worst Scottish accent I've ever heard, you should practice rolling your 'rrrrrrrrr's like Zhann said. hehehe 8) Catlin
