I can not speak for anyone else, but feel free to use/share my unicorn. I had it pulled as a protest against Edgenet and not to hurt folks in this forum. As for my artwork, no great loss I am sure. I will also have a link to download the unicorn from my website shortly, so you can always go there for now. The url is www.cp-tel.net/shadownet/ The site is up, but needs more work and requires java to be enabled.
There is also going to be a freestuff and gallery in the new site that is in beta right now,(which you can go take a look see, you'll see many familiar faces) Gawain, so I'm sure that most of the things that have disappeared will reappear there when it is ready. You might also email for permission if you want. I really don't think anyone took their things down to hurt the community, rather to make a statement against Edgenet. :)
I didn't have much, but I took it down because I don't feel I can trust Edgenet with it. I have no problem at all with community members using it, and it will all be posted at 3d commune when the freestuff is up and running. Obviously I can't speak for anyone else, but I think the general feeling was in protest, as opposed to non-use by the community. Gawain, I feel really sorry for anyone who got caught up in this mess unwittingly, since we all come (or came) here to appreciate and enjoy. I personally have a lot to thank Renderosity for, but I don't like to see good people being abused and so have withdrawn my stuff from the site (not that there was much!)in protest. I hope it will all blow over soon and that R'osity, R'otica and 3d commune ALL continue to serve the Poser community as they see fit. Me... I'm just goin' with the guys I trust. maclean PS the only reason I replied to this post is I HATE to see innocent by-standers getting drawn into this.
I let my stuff in freestuff, but after the freestuff-section at 3D-Commune opens i move everything to that site. In this case the stuff is allways available. After that feel free to send friends the requested pieces as long as you send it for free. That's the same what's writen in the readme. BTW: Heres the link to 3D-Commune: 3D Commune See you SHARKEY
Blue, I'm sorry about your run in at the PFO, it was an unfortunate string of events. I was not upset at all about your mailings, you can continue to send me update notices if you wish, but I only ask that you don't send attachments if possible. Again I'm sorry about what happened, I read the thread and did notice that n8's response was trying to tell Jon to take it private but I guess it was too late by then. I'll miss you over there and so will the members that do not visit anywhere else, they are missing out on a very talented member of the community. In any case, I will see you at the new place I hope, posting and sharing as you do with us all. Your generosity is in the true spirit of the community. Talk to you soon :)
The few characters and props I took down were in response to Edgenet's actions and not an attempt to "get at" the community. Please, if you (or anyone else) downloaded Fairy Hunter, Knight2000, or the Pickup Truck feel free to continue using them. If you want to distribute them onwards, you may do so provided you adhere to the terms in the readme files. LIke many others, my stuff will be back up at Jack and Ed's new site - along with other stuff (like a Lamborgini Diablo) that I'm currently working on Paul
Anything you downloaded you can use. That's why the files are there (or were there.) One thing to be careful of - some models were posted that said there were not to be redistributed in any way. If any of your models/textures, etc. have that written into their readme files, then do not upload them to your site for others to download, and do not e-mail them to others. Instead, tell them how to contact the artist so they can get a copy of the model. It's an extra step or two, but considering the fact that you got the items for free, it's a small price to pay.
Hi Folks! < A forum is made up of the people who are in it, not the person who provides the webspace.> Well spoken, Blue. I'm taking a positive view on all this--out of this issue will emerge yet another wonderful site for 3D artists to exchange advice and objects! Since I haven't posted any props (yet) I have nothing to pull, but when I'm ready I'll probably upload them to Jack's site. I came to PFO and this site for the people--especially the Poser people. I'll keep visiting these sites for the same reason. Peter (Dr Zik)

Hello- I haven't followed the reasons why some people have left this forum and taken their Free Stuff with them. I know there have been bad feelings among some of the members. I do have a few questions about the Free Stuff itemsthat are now gone. Since the things have been taken off the Free Stuff site by the creators does this mean that we are now no longer able to use the things already downloaded? Does this mean we are not able to share the downloaded files by e-mail with other current Renderosity members? With all the bad feelings I don't think it would be possible to get permission to send them. Thanks for any enlightenment.
