It may be due to the refraction of the light through the colored figure (if they're transparent), but i was wondering if you could get rid of the facets in their body parts. It's a little thing, but it distracts me from the experience of the image, which i like. @Atomic Anvil - You know you're getting old when someone refers to the "Think Different" ad campaign as "old". Your image reminds me of my college graduation. Guess who was the only one wearing color?
thanks for the comments re the picture. @bigbadelf - fixed the dude so that he is now smooth. i had forgotten to smooth the mesh :/ he does look much better smoothed. @burgi if you get more than enough donations for a G5 - could you please send the excess my way - i'd love one too. ;) an apple a day keeps bill gates poor. :)

I've just posted an image to the gallery and have put a link to it here as I would very much appreciate any constructive criticism people may wish to make. i am interested to see if the image reflects what i intended. i am quite pleased with how it turned out - something that rarely happens for me. it took hours to set up the scene but not that long to render - go figure. a warning - it is very wide - but i felt it improved the pic by presenting it that way
