The golden sphere (I won't talk about balls;-) ) appears to have a figure reflecting on the surface....the camera-man maybe? Nicely done!

WOW... I think that's the plant, bryster... Seriously, rayraz, what was your lighting, or was this effect achieved in postwork?

Yes, Bryster, of course the pot has a face, there, there...it's not real, it can't hurt you. :^)

Whoa...really symmetrical! Nice lighting.

The lighting was created with 8 spots pointing at white boxes. These boxes would cast a very diffused light into the scene using True Ambience. You can see the boxes reflecting in the surfaces. The blurry edges to the reflections of the boxes are due to the blurry reflections setting in the premium render. I also used half a circle of really dim slightly purple radials lighting the scene from just a little from the ground, this gives a nice subtle effect like the light bounced back up from the ground. Most of the postwork consists of combining seperate renders of seperate surfaces (such as for instance the snow/ice on the ground) and color adjustments. The little glow effect on the reflections of the spots and on the highlights is postwork too.

Oh, that's the floor! I coulda sworn it was a table. Thanks for the clarification. I think i was a little confused about the sizes of everything. Looks nice!

Rayraz ( ) posted Tue, 23 March 2004 at 1:10 PM

yeah, I like to call it the floor, but you can call it a table too. It's an undefined surface :P
