THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: patch or?

DAM3D ( ) posted Fri, 26 March 2004 at 11:55 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 11:42 PM

Heya all :) I am aware that Bryce is limited to the output resolution of 4000 x 4000 ... Is there a "patch" or tweak we can use to change that? so we could render in even higher resolutions?

File->Render to disk.

Yup, render to disk. You can type whatever dimensions you want into the render to disk fields. Even though the field isn't large enough for you to see a really big number it does seem to max out at 65,535 x 65,535 pixels. AS

LOL, that should be large enough.

go ahead render at 65,000 and you would haVE a long grey beard by the time it was done,that is if you didnt have some sort of power loss and have to start all over again.lol

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.

65536 ^2 sounds about right - I can't imagine waiting for a premium render at that resolution! LOL

Why,It only takes 2.6 seconds with my (Tm)Lightpath teraflop II multithreaded simulprocessor. :0))

good point. As processors get faster more will be do-able. A lot of the stuff I'm doing now would have been unamaginable timewise ten years ago.

I've started doing renders at poster size recently 'cos my partner and I have opened a small company and intend to sell art posters and t-shirts to all the geeks who come to buy computers. Thankfully I've now got a render machine so it doesn't matter how long the render's going to take. 8) Catlin

Catlin, It's the getting started at something like that that is hard. Posters and advertisement seem to be the thing! good luck with it! - TJ
