Subject: March Challenge!

Aye, I'm sorry it took me so long to get back in here AND come up with something for us to slave over for a month. Thanks to everyone who enetered and posted comments and votes last month, it's not necessary to have alot of people in on this, but it can make it more exciting! This last month has taught me some amazing things, and I've lost a lot... Still, there is spirit-flow and many lessons to be learned from LOSS. This month I'd like to challenge everyone to produce an emotional image of something LOST. A lost relic, a lost artifact, or maybe just something you loved and still love that is gone from you. May all such things return to us as the Wheel grinds on...

My lived to be 82 and lived a full life. She gave us all the love she had and more. I miss her dearly but know that in the afterlife we will meet again.

You know that sick feeling you get when you realize that your key is no longer on that cord around your neck?

Fractals will always amaze me!

Thanks, I posted this image in the regular Carrara gallery. It's been rolling around in my head for over a year or so. I just never really decided to sit down and crunch it out. The hand took me about 2 hours to build. I have a full scale plastic human skeleton here at the house so I fished him out of the halloween stuff last night and built the model from his/her (?) hand. This is actually the hand of the main character of a book I'll write someday (yeah, sure). Fortunately for me, the GI rendering engine in Carrara helped my texture look a little more grainy than the original design. I ran it with low settings and it did come out cool. Weird image. Everytime I cook up something like this, my wife reconsiders how well she knows me. Thanks, -Kix

A little slim on the number of entries.. but not on the talent.... But, it's almost April, so we gotta get underway on picking one winner from the entries here. Good luck everyone!!

I'll give 3 points to SndCastie 2 points to tresamie 1 point to kixum Entries are excellent. It's a tough subject to tackle.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Tue, 30 March 2004 at 7:21 PM

3 points to SndCastie, lots of work there! 2 points to Kixum, again, it looks tedious... 1 point to Tresamie, good to see such an advanced scene from you! Of course, thanks Shark for entering, I really didn't mean to choose such an obscure topic this month, and ran out of time to work on my own entry... Good luck!

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 30 March 2004 at 7:36 PM

I don't think it was obscure. I think it is tough because it can reflect an emotion many of us having a hard time dealing with. I commend the artists who took on the task. :) Having few entries doesn't mean it was a bad topic...just more of a challenge.

SndCastie ( ) posted Tue, 30 March 2004 at 10:53 PM

yes a very hard time dealing with the this kind of emotion it was a great challenge thank you for doing it :O)

First off, as Dialyn pointed out.. the number of entries isn't important, it's the quality of the work submitted.. and all of you continue to impress and improve!! So.. onto the moment you've all been waiting for: Tresamie & Sharkx19 - 5 points Kixum - 10 points And running away with the lead: SndCastie - 16 points. Congrats SndCastie... please pust a new thread with April's challenge. :)
