can someone give me an address or tutorial or just telling me here how do to a white background for shooting subjects and what equipement to use (like lights etc) it would be appreciated

Depends on what you're trying to do. Just want white background (so you see nothing in the background and just the subject) or are you going for high key shots? Are you shooting people, objects or both? -=>Donald

high key??? don't know what it means......but what we are going to shoot...still is undertermined really....it would be more object but perhaps ppl too....

Hmmm ... kind of tough to answer specifically then. You can use either strobe or hot (continous) lights. The two most important things to remember, I think: 1) You want to light your background 2 to 3 stops higher than your subject. So, if you are shooting something at f/5.6 then light your background at f/11 or f/16 and shoot with your camera set at 5/6. But don't go too high or you'll start killing your edge detail. To really get nice, even coverage you may want to use 2 lights for the background (or some bounces or an umbrella to spread the light out across the background evenly). 2) Remember that with a large white background, if you meter with your camera set on any "averaging" setting, it will probably underexpose the shot. Ideally, you want to use a handheld meter and then set your camera to manual using the readings from your meter. -=>Donald
