Ok... now that I got your attention :) here are some explanations... This is NOT a solution, just a workaround that seems to be working in most situation. After playing with settings around that annoying problem (I came across it in my last image actually), I found a way to dramatically reduce these artefacts. For all materials affected by this issue (in this example : Hair, Eyelashes, Eyes, Upper Eyebrows) 1- Open the material editor 2- Select 'Transparency' 3- Set refraction index to 1.01 (or .99)... slightly above or below 1.0 (which seems to be causing the problem). 4- Unckeck 'Show caustics' 5- Set 'Turn reflective with angle' to 0% 6- Set 'Fading out' to 0% and set Light and Fade out colors to Black 7- Try rendering again and appreciate the difference.

"Set refraction index to 1.01 (or .99)... slightly above or below 1.0 (which seems to be causing the problem)" this drive me crazy !!!!!! :) 10x

Agiel, I've tried you suggestion, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with alpha planes, (or any plane for that matter). There is yet another way to work around this problem. Raising the quality boost in the atmosphere editor all the way up usualy helps a lot (although not in all situations).

Great! Many thanks for the little tut, Laurent. This was exactly the problem I encountered several times before. The thread will go directly on my list of VIB (very important bookmark). ;) Cheers, Phil
