Subject: Ole DAZ Centaur

Been using the Ole DAZ Centaur for many years now and got a bit tired of it. Someone at DAZ offered me the use of a new texture he did and it is sweet. But I needed some morphs. Thinking it was built on the P4 Dork mesh I went and found some face and ear morphs hoping to punch its versatility up. I was really disappointed when the morphs didn't work. I tried them on Dork and they worked fine (just in case the morphs themselves were bad...they weren't!). Does anyone know what they built the Centaur human body parts from? Does anyone know if there are any morphs available out there especially for its ears and face? I have tried for sometime to learn to use those darn Poser magnets but I have more success banging my own face up in frustration than I do learning them! LOL I know DAZ is struggling to build us their new MilCentaur but having no patience to wait I still use the old one and I need to get this render out of my face!

It was based on the Muscular character way back when. rbtwhiz had some morphs for him at one point in time. The merman is based on the same mesh

Ye olde DAZ Centaur is lookin' pretty outdated these days, but there's a new Centaur in the works, I'm not sure who's doing it, but if I understand correctly, it will use Michael 3 for the human half and the forthcoming Millennium Horse for the equine half.

Great!

So when is the female centaur coming? It's only been, what, 5 years?

Well, there's always LadyLittleFox's Shinitaur... ;)

Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.

Didn't Nerd also make a female kentaur? I know I have a few of them from way back

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

iw43d.com has a female centaur. Sixus1 is also planning realistic male and female centaur figures.

Ghostofmacbeth: How does one contact rbtwhiz? Haven't seen anything bout him in a while? Is he still in the community? Any leads helpful. Yeah I have a lot of Centaurs too -both male and female-but all that I know of are the old parent-them-together set-up. I tried one when I first got into Poser. I selected the horse part of the character and used a standard horse pose rearing and the human upper body went flying. Funny. But I removed the character right away and didn't use centaurs until Zygote distributed their centaur. But what pissed me off was the weak market strategy then of non-support for their releases. Oh the offered some different textures and poses and I think some accessories but for the most part it lacked after market support. I am glad they seem of late, to be changing that marketing philosophy. I am looking forward to seeing this new version and hopefully more support will be made available for it as well as a compareable mate! ;)

rbtwhiz is one of the main programmers/designers of DAZ Studio. His commitment is full-time, so he's not working on meshes at all these days. I don't know his DAZ e-mail address, but you can almost certainly contact him via the D|S Forum at DAZ.

Thanks I will try that!
