Subject: Maybe illumination is meant for Medieval manuscripts...

I need a comprehensive tut on global illumination. I looked at the one posted recently, and I think I understand the theory, but what are some things you guys do in your Bryce scenes? Do you have any tips for specific types of scenes? ANYthing at all will be welcome, since I'm still quite new at this.

If anybody needs it, I have a light-quarterdome with 51 lights. LWO, 24 kB unzipped. Send me your mail address and I will send you the file with instructions for use.

You may want to try a basic book on lighting design for the theatre. I came to Bryce out of a theatrical background, so I tend to treat them very similarly, employing some of the same conventions. The basic rule I use is that light in a scene is primarily there to shape what an audience sees and how they see it. A person sitting in a chair with their knees curled into their chest under several lights with a medium blue gel a single downspot with no gel looks very different when put under a single downspot with no gel.
