Subject: stick man texture template probs?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help? I am trying to make a custom texture for maleStick man, I have tried uv mapper for mac: I get the planar template out and it looks ok-paint the texture in photoshop resave then try loading in poser and nothing happens. I have tried exporting the maleStick.ojbj from uv mapper which applies the tex map fine in poser but the figure is not animate-able -it's 'bones' etc are not working. I have the animation all set up in poser but I need to apply the tex map to the project. Am I missing the point completely? Any help would be gratefully received. cheers doobie

I had the same problem a few weeks ago with the stick man, but I gave up because I was just playing around, and didn't need it for a project. I just tried it again, and this is what I did. Open UVMapper Load the maleStick.obj from Poser/Geometries You will get a warning that the object has no UV coordinates Make the template and save it Save the model Rename the original maleStick.obj so you don't lose it Name the saved model maleStick.obj and put it in the maleStick folder Delete or rename the maleStick.rsr This should work for you.

Well that's odd, but if UV Mapper claims it has no UV coordinates, I think that would probably explain it...not after mapping it though. Are you simply importing the .OBJ? That would explain why it's not poseable. Do what wyrwulf said...it should work. BTW, have you found that doobie yet? I wouldn't recommend it while using UV Mapper, but it goes great with painting textures! LOL Cheers, Mike

First off- thanks you guys! worked perfectly firsttime I didn't realize I had to remove the original to get the uv mapped model to animate. excuse my 'missing the point' on that one thanks again. And Mike "yes, I have" and started paintingthe texture but KPT pulled me in and sucked my brain out before I could force quit -pretty colours... mmmmunchies!
