Ok I just love what i have seen around here and in the 3Dcommune.com galleries so I purchased Vue yesterday.. couple of questions 1. How easy is it to import between Vue and other programs? (Carrara and Poser mostly because that 's what I use now) 2. Any big , know problems with Vue? (macintosh or program it's self... windows doesn't matter cause I don't use one much anymore and wont have Vue on it) 3. good tutorials? want to learn it FAST!! :) 4. Mover 5? Vue does animations by it's self.. is mover just for Poser imports? or will it add to all animations? I jst saw the little demo with the girl walking over at Eon and it's WAY cool.. but do i need it? THANKS!! :) you'll be seeing me a lot here once I got it in my greedy little hands :)

Welcome in our Vue community. So you have purchased Vue 4 or Vue 4 Pro? Anyhow, you will love it.

  1. In both programs you can import all 3ds and OBj and Pz3 and and much more formats. But you cannot export anything from Vue 4. You only can export from vue 4 Pro.

  2. I don't have a Mac, and cannot answer this.

  3. Tutorials for beginners. Click the link at bottom here ( I have a tut called First Steps With Vue) and also go in our Backroom (see in the header here)

  4. If you have only Vue without the included Mover, you can import pz3 stills from Poser (figures, objects). Mover 5 allows you to import fully animated scenes from Poser into Vue. Then you can add vegetations or whatever. The demo mov you have seen at e-on's site were made with Vue 4 Pro. But the creator, Phoul (Philippe Boyer), has created lots of animations with Vue 4 and Mover 4. Have a look at his site www.belino.net

We are happy to see you here and will try to answer all your questions. The problem is only we have not so many Mac users.

BTW make sure you have the latest updates for your Vue version. they are free at e-on's site.

Thanks... :) got LOTs of tut's there.. can't wait :) I'm just getting Vue 4.. not pro.. really can't afford and/or justify the purchase for my little hobby needs.. (yet) I'm kinda suprised there aren't that many Mac people.. from what I have read around it's advertised for the Mac heavy!! I have also heard it's kinda buggy on a PC where the Mac version is much more stable.. but then I look at mac web pages, mags, etc much more these days than windows publications so my info is probably biased. So mover is just an poser thing.. no other uses? doesn't add to Vue's animation abilities? anyway thanks again :)

Yes, it also adds to Vue animation abilities, because it has more features.

And, I forgot... Mover 5 allows you to render your animation over a network with the famous render cow:-). But start with Vue 4, learn it (it's easy to learn) and you always can see later if Mover 5 is your need :-)

Hi thomllama, welcome to the club and I'm shure you'll be having lots of fun with Vue. I'm one of the few mac users over here, so I'd be more than happy to help out if you're having any issues with Vue and your mac. Just let me know if you need help. :) Phil
